My daughters Iphone 7 is having battery life issues. Since I got it for her in November of last year, it should still be under warranty, right? Does the warranty cover the battery?

If it is defective it is covered if it is from use it is not covered.... They official terms used is it is designed to be charged 500 times and retain 80% capacity... Bring it to and apple store and see what they say HOWEVER if it is not covered and you choose to get it replaced at a much cheaper not authorized repair place however your warranty will be voided and any future extended warranties they may offer such as the 29.00 battery replacement last year. No one knows how you got the phone but if it was legitimate apple has a one year warranty including cables and headphones. You can go to the apple site type in the EIN and it will tell you if it is still under warranty.

I believe it's a year and it should cover the battery. If you have an Apple store near by go online to Apple and make a reservation for the Genius Bar, think FP+. If you have more then one near you check around as you may get a quicker reservation at a different one. You can also keep checking back as times do open up with people cancelling. You can also walk in but you are then in the standby line. Before you bring it in back it up to ITunes to be safe. They can run a diagnostic on it and check the battery. If you don't have a store near by you can send it to them as well.

I bought it brand new. It was through either Verizon or Best Buy. But it was brand new.
It’s got a one year warranty then it looks like. You can check the status of it with Apple https://support.apple.com/iphone/repair/service if you scroll around you’ll see a spot to check. I had my battery replaced at Best Buy and was happy so if you don’t have an Apple Store nearby maybe you have an Authorized repair place (some Best Buys are, some aren’t) you can search online for one near you.

Don’t forget to backup the phone before you go in for the battery replacement in case anything goes wrong.

If you bought it new, you have a one year warranty. They will check your serial number and will know when the phone was first used. Battery is covered, however Apple will check to see if it is having problems. I usually take my phone to the apple store when I am near the end of my warranty and have them check it out for issues. I’ve almost always received a new battery. When I have taken it in for actual issues, I’ve always received a new battery.
Some issues I have had is that I my phone would indicate I have 25% (or 15% or whatever it was) of my charge left and then all of the sudden it would turn off because there was no charge left.
I’ve found the apple store to be very helpful. Even if they say your battery is ok, make sure they record your visit and go back again before your warranty expires. They usually don’t say no twice.

Have you gone under the battery section and checked usage? Sometimes an app will go rogue. Also, have you checked the standby vs usage time and battery health?
