iPhone 6 mail app question..

I had a problem with my email on Friday and I'm hoping someone might have an answer..

I use the mail app and usually don't have a problem with it. Sometimes it doesn't refresh for hours at a time and when I manually refresh it, a few emails appear, some are hours old.

Friday, I was waiting for an email and it didn't show up. I was refreshing the app every hour or so and still nothing. I even closed the app and reopened it. Today, I checked hotmail on my desktop and the email was there! I even opened hotmail in Safari and it was there too. Notmally it wouldn't be a huge deal but this email was a job offer so thank goodness I hopped on my computer and decided to check.

So my question is, any idea why this would happen? It's beyond weird that I wouldn't get it on my phone but it was in my hotmail account when it was checked my computer AND the safari app. I have received emails from this address before on my phone so why not this email? I did check in my junk and deleted folders and it wasn't there either..it just doesn't appear on my phone anywhere.

I too have to refresh the app when I am expecting something but I have never had this happen. I am glad you got the email on your computer, and congrats on the job offer!

In my experience when I've had this happen it's been an issue with the email server "talking to" iOS. Generally it's on the email end of things. Things I've done to get it to kick back in are deleting the email from my phone, rebooting the phone and then adding it back or going in turning off my settings for email, rebooting and then going back and turning the settings on again.

Thank you. It's a job I've wanted for a long time because it will be perfect for me and my current situation.

THANK YOU! I deleted the app and then reinstalled it and now the email shows up. I know it wasn't essential because it was still on my computer but it's the little things sometime..

I sometimes get an error with my Verizon email. It says my password is wrong but it is right. I keep refreshing and eventually it works. I haven't had a problem with AOL.

Sometimes things will show up in my hotmail inbox on my iPad, but on my iPhone, they come through as junk. Meanwhile, I am waiting for something and unknowingly, it's in junk...
