iPhone 4

I downloaded the Apple Store app and had my iphone ordered in 10 minutes!:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

Can.... not.... wait!
 
Well, today was stressful. Worked for 8.5 hours, purely overtime. We had a line when we opened at 9, maybe 15 people. The floodgates opened at about 9:15. We had a queue of about 25 by 9:30 and then... THE SYSTEMS CRASHED! :scared1: They were down from about 10-11:45. All was running smoothly (although a little bit slow) until 4:30. That's when we got the news that we had run out of our allotment of preorders. Now we had to break the news to people that they would not get their phone on June 24th. And on top of that the system crashed AGAIN! That's when I decided to call it quits. When I walked out the door there were 12 people waiting for service and 10 reps still working hard. No one had a "lunch break" We finally realized around 3 we needed to order some pizza or we were gonna lose some people we were all so hungry!

I know I personally processed 15 preorders today, and if the system would have been running smoother, I could have done 20-25. Just more money for my Disney fund, I love this time of year :love:

Congrats to everyone on their orders, I have to wait until July for mine :sad1:
 
It took 10 hours to get my confirmation email from the Apple Store.

Plus, I just managed to get the pre-order in for my brother in law.

I think the process was different for those who wanted it shipped vs in store pickup.

I'm dead tired. I've been up since 2:45 AM. Now it is time to sit back and wait till Thursday.
 
Question...I got my pre-order to go through at the Apple store...FINALLY, but it says that I will owe the full $699 instead of the $299 (I am a current AT&T customer and I am eligible for the upgrade). Should I contact AT&T and get it in writing that I am eligible for the upgrade so I don't have to fight with them at the Apple store when I pick-up my phone, or do you think this is just a default on the website?
 

I would hope this would all be resolved by the time you pick up your iphone and pay. I would let things settle down for a few days then look into it or call your local store and ask what's going on.
 
I would check and make sure there are not 2 orders out there somewhere. If one order had "claimed" your upgrade, it might have caused the second to come out at full price.

I woke up around 4AM ET (regular hours) and pre-ordered via my AT&T Premier business account for 2 iPhone 4 (32gb) - two separate credit card transactions - easy process completed in 10 minutes shipped to my house.

Note: White iPhone 4 currently unavailable for pre-order or in-store pickup for both Apple and AT&T. Reason: please ask Apple.

The white phones are in very short supply for launch.
 
Got mine but agree what a pain. I'm not sure if the att system was broken or the phone was THAT popular. I tend to believe the former. Wanted white but guess I'll settle for black.


For those worried about paying for the phone... Sell your old one on bay or to nextworth.com. My phone and wife's are paid for from selling them. They have a high resell value.
 
The short supply of white phones make sense. The prototype that surfaced back in April turned out to be a final version which leads me to believe that there is a nice stockpile of the black phones sitting in a warehouse just waiting to be delivered.

Then once they reached a certain number of black 16/32GB in inventory they moved to producing white models in the last month so they would not have the inventory to cover preorder demand at launch.
 
Both DH and I tried logging in early, but not luck. When I finally got ATT Premier site to load, there were no Iphone 4s listed. Kept trying at work.


I experienced seeing someone else's account info. It freaked me out because it pulled up the phones at full price. When I looked at the top of the screen it showed a guy in another state. The phones were full price because it said his bill was past due so he had to pay full price to get a phone.


I feel lucky because I decided to run to the nearby AT&T store. I walked in and right up to a station right after 9. It took him a few tries because the site was frozen. He was able to get in and do it as long as I took delivery at the store. This didn't bother me because DH is letting me use his upgrade which will require me to do the transfer in the store anyway. I was out of the store around 9:20 central. My e-mail confirmation came through less than 2 hours later (which seems pretty good considering they went down not long after I walked out).
 
For those of you in (or close to) Canada or the UK, you can purchase direct from teh Apple store and get an unlocked phone which will work on any compatible carrier..

Of course, in Canada, the shipment is delayed until further notice (basically once all the initial orders are filled)...
 
I ordered my phone today. It took me 45 minutes because the system was so busy. Not just from AT&T but also from Apple. At the AT&T store there was an hour wait just to place your order!! The guy that helped me said everything was fine until CA opened up (live on the east coast) and this slowed their system down. I predict that for the next 2 or 3 days it will be crazy in the stores and online.

I can live with black. I'm just going to put a skin on it anyway!;)

No confirmation e-mail yet, it's been about an hour...:surfweb:

And now I popcorn:: for June 24. Hope the Apple site is indeed right about that date, as I am reading at macrumors.com about delivery 6/25 and later for anyone who didn't get an early preorder in this morning...:rolleyes1

I finally got mine and DH's 4's ordered this morning via Apple's site. I agree w/ PP, At&t's site never worked for me. I cannot wait!!!!! :woohoo:
 
Well even though my upgrade preorder appeared to go through yesterday via AT&T, I still have not received a confirmation email and when I try to look it up I get an error. So I just preordered another via Apple's site which will not ship until July 2nd, and for which I received an email confirmation in about 10 minutes. If I do receive confirmation from AT&T I will cancel the Apple one.
