I remember thinking we were hot stuff when we got a Commodore 64. . . I don’t see giving kids current technology as spoiling them, so long as it’s age appropriate. You don’t have to give a six year old an iPad Pro or a ten year old an iPhone Pro Max. Entry level tech allows them to learn just as well as top of the line until they are old enough to need the upgrades.

I thought I was hot stuff when I got a VIC 20. with a cassette tape backup drive. Only thing I ever did with it was program it to fill the screen with curse words.
