I'm interested in the camera feature in order to use Skype and other FaceTime apps. If I like the new feature set enough, I'll upgrade from the iPad1 to the iPad2 and either keep the old one as a spare for another family member or sell it to a friend.
I use the iPad for just about all my social computer use - FaceBook, email, surfing the web, checking and reading blogs, etc.
I have all the reading apps and I sometimes use it to read from my
Amazon account using the Kindle app. If I set the brightness down and change the backgound color to sepia, I can read for a couple of hours without having any eye issues. More than that and my eyes start to feel blurry. I much prefer reading on my Kindle for long-term pleasure reading.
The iPad is a ROCK STAR (apologies to Charlie Sheen) when it comes to magazines. I have almost all my magazines in digital form now - no more paper clutter, always available, beautiful color, ability to enlarge the page, etc. Some of the enhanced magazines are really amazing.
The other day I was reading the the new Marie Claire - not an enhanced version, just my regular subscription through Zinio. I turned a page and the story was a fashion shoot on a beach. They had embedded sound effects and you could "hear" the waves breaking on the shore behind the model. Very, very cool!!!
I love the iPad and I don't see ever being without a tablet of some form again. It replaces almost all the functions of my laptop and desktop. I still need another computer for word processing, etc. but the iPad is a great, great addition!!!!
