I have a couple of questions if anyone knows the answer or wants to chime in.

My new iPad came Friday and I am in love!! Especially for reading magazines - Vanity Fare! Oprah! Us Weekly!! (lol!)

I'd like to also use it to watch TV shows, and I'm not sure what my options are. On the Hulu site it told me I needed to download Flash but I understand it's not compatible with the iPad - so Hulu is out for TV shows on the iPad, right? Should I go to the iTunes store and purchase a series - and if so, is it automatically compatible with an iPad (in other words, the series purchased from iTunes wouldn't need Flash?)

How many episodes of a TV show/series are usually available on Hulu? What about Netflix? I have a Netflix account but when I tried to watch a few minutes of a show it froze twice - is it just the video rebuffering or has anyone had any issues watching Netflix Instant on an iPad?

Whew!! That's a lot of questions!! TIA if anyone can walk me through this...

Congrats on getting your Ipad! I just ordered one today after deliberating for 6 wks whether to get it or not. Totally shocked my husband that I waited that long lol. I think you can watch ABC tv shows (ABC app) on the Ipad, that is not offered on my Touch. Also, try apps Tv.com and NBC.com - I use both of those on the Touch and they work beautifully!

I am a Netflix subscriber - and I am excited to stream Netflix onto the Ipad. I was amazed at the video quality when I looked at a demo at Best Buy. I stream Neflix through our DVD player - and the streaming is close to flawless. Remeber the streaming quality will be as good as your internet connection - and based on your Router
speed - ( for lack of a better word) I have an N Router. Before when I had G - I had more freezing of video on my Touch etc.

Not sure of episodes that are usually available on Hulu, but I am pretty sure that is not workable on Ipad at this point. I just read a blip on Hulu not coming to Ipad yet (stated May 13th) - but it seems things are always changing one week to the next!

So, those are the places I wanted to mention. What else are you finding you are using the Ipad for that you love? Did you order yours from Apple?

Enjoy, Becky

I just got an ipad as well but I haven't been able to find magazine subscriptions..can you tell me where you downloaded your magazines? Is it in the iBook store? I tried the kindle store but i couldn't get it on my iPad. Thanks

Thanks so much! I suspected as much - I'm going to treat myself to a Season pass of Glee but didn't want to buy it if I could get it from Hulu on the iPad.

I did order it from Apple on May 1st and it was delivered last Friday. It's beautiful!!! So far I just have the usual suspects - Netflix, Pandora, Facebook, iBooks, etc plus a few specialty apps. This is going to be fun!!

A friend told me about Zinio - I think it's a free app. You download it and join (for free) and then you can buy magazine subscriptions. I bought Oprah and Us Weekly to start. It's exactly like the paper version, and you flip a page at a time. It has some other features I haven't explored much yet.

The Vanity Fair was a separate app and it was $4.99 for one issue. That's expensive if they keep that pricing model but really I am so excited to get all of my magazines in digital format that I'd pay extra not to have them cluttering up my house. So we'll see how many more come in digital form - I suspect eventually almost all magazines will. So exciting!!
