IPad Mini vs Full size

I have an iPad. dd7 has a mini. I prefer the larger screen of the full size but she loves her mini.

I have the mini & LOVE LOVE it.

We want to get something for my mom...........just not sure if we want the mini thinking she would be able to see better on the air or the regular ipad. But I've not seen any good deals out there other than for the mini.

I'm not sure about an iPad not being able to replace a laptop. I use my iPad mini for about 95% of my computing needs. There is one program I use that I don't have access to on my iPad, but I use it very rarely and it's not something that's necessary. Last semester one of my online classes didn't play nicely with my iPad so I wound up using the laptop for that, but for everything else, I pretty much use my iPad. I have a subscription to Office 365 so I have access to all of my documents and spreadsheets on my iPad.

And I have never regretted giving up my full sized iPad for the iPad mini. For me, bigger isn't always better.

I went from a full size iPad to the mini (both first generations) and have never looked back. The smaller size is so much better for me.

I went from a full sized iPad to a Mini and didn't regret it. The Mini actually works better for me, just seems less bulky and easier to manage.

I have a full size IPAD that I love. But, I'm considering getting an IPad mini and giving it to my DD 8. I would like to have a lighter one that is easier to fit in my purse.

Has anyone moved from full size to mini and regretted it? Any advice?

I think it is more a matter of preference, and how you are going to use it. I have a mini (by choice) that I love - would not have a full size. Dh, on the other hand is right opposite, has the full size. I like smaller things, just a matter of convenience for me - the screen size is no issue.

As for replacing a laptop - no way for me. I use my laptop (Mac) for so many things that I would not want to rely on my mini for.

re: ipads replacing laptops - I tried it, but my iPads won't download large emails from my gmail account. It's the one issue I couldn't resolve.

I've got an iPad and an mini-sized Android tablet. I think it depends on how you primarily want to use it.

Most of the time, I prefer the size of the iPad, in terms of being able to see full screens of websites if I'm shopping online, or watching videos etc. I like my smaller tablet for taking with me when I travel and for reading ebooks in bed.

I think you should test them both out.
