Thanks for the help! I think I may have found the problem but don't know how to fix it.
When I check my DH iPad mini he was logged into my homeshare but it has a name for it and not just my apple id. I don't know how to change that.
(I just got a new Mac a few months ago and it is using my old Mac's name...sigh!
