My child's OT recommended getting a keyboard (letter not piano) for our iPad to help our son build finger strength. Plus to get a jump start on keyboarding which will start in school in another year. She said her parents had a good one, rubber and require you to really push down, unlike most keyboards. All she knew is that they bought theirs on QVC. QVC is overpriced and their keyboards have bad reviews plus I could not find a brand name on them. Has anyone seen a keyboard that might work? I have a laptop but the keys are so light it would frustrate him and not build the finger strength he needs.
Thanks!

I do not know of any iPad keyboards which require very much pressure to type. They just wouldn't be popular. It might be easier to do exercises which strengthen fingers another way. I'm guessing she was talking about the Bluetooth Full-Size Silicone Keyboard on QVC, which looks terrible.

We do a bunch of other exercises but with my son the ipad is a huge motivator. Which is why the suggestion. Moving into using a keyboard is another step for him so just trying to combine them. Yeah I need one of those unpopular ones :)

I'd suggest looking on www.Amazon.com

They have a lot of keyboards, with quite a bit of feedback. I would look in the positive as well as the negative eyed back because some of them may not like just the things you are looking for.
I would also suggest checking the keyboard layout - I know some of them have a non- standard layout, which would cause problems if he gets used to it and then starts keyboarding.

You might want to also look at the Apple bluetooth wireless keyboard. It works with both iPads and Apple desktop computers. We've got one for DD's iMac and it is a great keyboard. It's not a real heavy or real light touch, but does have a good feel to it.
I'm not sure why the OT wants one that needs a really heavy touch; in my experience, most keyboards don't need a really heavy touch.
