We won a gas gift card, so I'd like to use my budgeted gas money on a tablet for myself. We have iPhones and iPad minis, so I'm leaning towards an iPad, but I'm willing to look at other tablets with Microsoft. Thanks!

If you already have Apple products, I would stick with Apple.

The minis are a bit small for me. I have a full size iPad and love it. I carry it around almost everywhere in a Timbuk2 small bag that doubles as a purse.

Yeah, while I love my Google Nexus... If you're already invested in the Apple infrastructure, why change horses midstream ?

If already on the Apple bangwagon get Ipad. Why change systems? We is a android family. I have Samsung Galaxy Note 3, kids Asus Memo pad and chea[ androids that paid 29.99 bucks for. Mom has a cheap 40 dollar android tablet that fits her needs. We all have android phones too.

I got myself a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 after seeing how much use my kids got from the ones they got for Christmas. And it's great.

But we got Ipads at school, and I really LOVE mine. If you're already comfortable with Apple products and can swing the price difference, I vote for the Ipad.

My advice, if you can afford it, is to buy a tablet from T-Mobile. You might have to pay for one month's service, but they offer 200MB of data per month FREE for tablets.

A couple months ago, they offered a $200 credit for trading in any old Blackberry. I picked up an iPad Air with 4G service for less than the WiFi model, and I get that free monthly data.

I buy my iPads refurbished directly from Apple. Good discount and same 1 year warranty new products come with. We've always been totally satisfied.

How much stuff or time is 200 MBs? We've always had unlimited data, so I have no idea what that's equivalent to.

Thanks!

Very, very little.
You get what you pay for. It's free, but it's not much. You can add more at any time since there's not contract.

You could probably spend a couple hours a day reading disboards and not run out of data. But streaming a movie would probably eat it all up in 10 minutes.
