Ok i am so fed up with my netbook - its slow, freezes etc.

I love my iphone and want an ipad! Was thinking of the ipad air - but i see so many saying they are getting the mini. Which do u like better and why?

I currently have a 10inch netbook. I use it mostly to surf the web - check the disney boards, facebook emails, ebay etc. what do u think??

Hi Lisa! :wave2: I sell Apple products so I am going to tell you the same thing I tell my callers -- It really depends on you and the way you intend to use it. The iPad Air and the iPad Mini with Retina Display have almost the same build, so choose the size that fits your needs the best. The Mini will fit better in your purse, but web sites can often look pretty small on the 7.9 inch screen. The Air will cost more but you'll be able to see more of what you are looking at. Generally, I suggest that people that are trying to replace a computer with an iPad go for the larger size unless there is a really good reason (price or size) that they need to go with something smaller.

I had a mini and didn't like it for reading at all. I gave it to my cousin. Also, I have an iPad 4th gen and LOVE it. The air is enticing though and I've been debating getting one.

I love my iPad 2, so I would recommend the iPad Air.

I use my iPad just as you would, and I can not imagine surfing the the net or reading the disboards on something that small. You would be zooming in and out to try to read, plus lots of scrolling.

You already have an iPhone, which gives you portability and internet on the go. I think an iPad Air would be a natural choice for you.

Good luck with your decision!

I replaced my iPad 2 with an iPad Air and it is great. Go for the Air if you can afford it. The bigger screen is worth the price.

for me, the mini fit my requirements.

I carry my ipad everywhere (nearly); I use it at work to have all of the manuals I need on hand at all times, and at home for casual browsing and emailing. I also tend to hold my ipad for long periods of time (often one handed). For me, the increase in portability is worth the decrease in functionality from the smaller size.

That being said, if you don't need to carry it everywhere the ipad air may be a better fit.

My recommendation (if you can) is to go to an apple store and play with them for some time; hold them and use them, then make your decisions.

I just bought my wife an ipad air for my wife to replace her ipad 1. She loves it. If you can brave the black friday crowds I have seen a lot of good deals on the ipad airs.

I'm going to try and get one of each on BF at Target. The ipad Air comes with a $100 gift card which I would then turn around and apply to the ipad mini, which in turn comes with a $75 gc that I can spend the next day on Disney cards to get the 20% off sitewide discount to spend on more Disney gc's :upsidedow.

I have Apple everything at this point. I would say it depend on the size of the screen you want. The new Air and Mini Retina Display are pretty much the same (just bought the Mini for DD christmas). If you prefer the larger screen, then go with the Air. If you don't mind the smaller screen and want something more compact then the Mini is probably the way to go!

What deals besides the Target one?

Can the ipad air be purchased online @ target for the same deal? i won't be able to hit Target that early and i heard they will only be having a few per store...

Is this online on Saturday or brick and mortar? Thanks!

The iPad Air and ipad mini are part of the Black Friday doorbuster specials that begin Thursday night at 8 :worried:. No one seems to be sure whether or not it will be available online as well and that info won't be released until the official ad comes out in the paper (Wed or Thurs). The "buy $75+ worth and get a sitewide 20% off coupon" deal is on Friday and is available in store or online. That coupon is to be used between Dec 1-7. Confusing, isn't it??!!

The iPad Air is extremely light; I really notice the difference between it and my old iPad 2. It also easily fits in my purse.

Oh no. It seems like everyone here is saying to get the iPad Air. I told DH to get me the iPad mini with retina for xmas.

I hope I made the right choice. I picked the smaller size since I work overnights at a hospital and it will be much easier to throw my mini in a bag to bring to work. If it is slow at work I usually browse the diboards on my iPhone so the mini will be much better than using my phone.Plus it is a little easier to hide so it doesn't get stolen if I leave the room real quick. I have a Kindle Fire and the size seems fine to me. If I am home and want to have a large screen I can just use the Macbook.

Don't worry...there is not only one right choice. The iPad mini sounds perfect for you. Everyone was recommending the iPad Air for OP because she is looking for a replacement for her netbook, and she already has an iPhone for internet on the go.

I prefer the ipad over the mini, simply for size. The mini is perfect for my 5 and 8 year old. It is too small for me, might as well use my iphone lol. My wife feels the same.

Yes, it is. :rotfl:

The mini sounds better for you. I'm in my mid 50's and don't see as well as I used to so ith its larger size, the iPad air would be better for me.

I've been wanting an Ipad for awhile and our DD (13) is lucky enough to have one via our school district. I've played on hers and also looked at the Mini's, but I think I am set on the Ipad Air 16gb for my first one.

My Mom has asked me what I wanted so I went to BB and also printed it all out from their website and just sent it to her.

Hope I get one!!!!!

Di:thumbsup2
