I just got 2 iPads for my girls. Any recommendations for keyboards in the budget-friendly category? I don't know whether to get some kind of laptop-type case, just a keyboard, or? Totally new to this. Thanks!

A protective slider incase to protect the iPad itself, Zagg covering to protect the glass and a stylus ( we use $5 one from Five Below) should be good. That's all we use for our 2 iPads in our house. You don't necessarily need to hook up a keyboard, it will have a touchscreen keyboard. That would be a personal preference.

Awesome present.

I got a keyboard and while I like it, it makes the iPad too heavy to carry all the time. I agree with prior poster.

I disagree that it's just as easy to use the iPad keyboard - I am a touch typist and HATE the iPad keyboard. I'm always mistyping. Have them try it out - if it works for them, then that's great. Tj Maxx usually has good prices on keyboard cases, also Amazon.

Thanks, everyone. While these are for my dd's, I will likely be using it too sometimes. I am like wekhogan and MUCH prefer a keyboard. I've been trying to research but it's hard for me to tell much from online tech reviews. From what I've read, the type that you use in a case that makes it work like a laptop are good in some ways but make it a lot harder to carry around and it's hard to remove the iPad once it's in there. Removable keyboards are nice for that reason but have other issues (can't remember what, now), and then there is the wireless/bluetooth vs wired. I'm more confused than ever! I was hoping to get feedback from people here so thanks for the input.
