Did you all have to wait in line for hours upon hours? My fiance waited at the WAL last night but wasn't able to get the size he wanted. He finally scored one this morning at Best Buy. I was just curious about the waits, etc.

I was shocked. I went into my local Best Buy for a replacement mobile headset and walked out with a 16 Gb new iPad. I was there all of 10 minutes. They had someone standing at the front of the store with a stack of folders holding the "sheets" which let customers buy the new iPads. At 11:45 this morning, there were plenty of "sheets" left.

The longest part of the conversation was over whether the new iPad would fit my iPad 2 case.

Ordered from Apple on-line and waiting for delivery on Monday :)

John ordered his the first day you could do it through Apple and it arrived today.

I have a Tumi case with a plastic tray that securely holds the iPad, but the new iPad is just a bit thicker and won't snap in securely.

I would imagine that some covers will work, but others....like mine....will not.

Thankfully, I won't have to return it. It fit my case.

Via ICloud and tried hard wire to my computer. The computer recognizes the iPad but won't let me synch!

I dread calling for help!

Apple has really good customer support. I'd give them a call.

iPad3 owners... how do you like it so far?

My DH is thinking about getting one. I have a first generation iPad that works fine, and he has a MacBook Pro and a Mac desktop.

I find it a significant improvement in resolution and speed over the first generation iPad. I had very little problems with my first one but resolution is a big thing to me so I skipped the iPad2 on the basis of rumors that this release would have the higher resolution display. I have not been disappointed.

I don't do a whole lot that requires faster speed but it is a nice bonus. I was having several apps crash with the first one so I'm hoping this one resolves the issue.

I've not used the camera yet. I didn't buy it for the camera but it will be nice to have that option in a pinch.

It took me a little bit to get use to the beveled case. I kept trying to insert plug at an angle instead of straight on.

I'm not one to think whatever I buy is great but then I don't believe in buyer's remorse without something actually going wrong with the product.

I love it. Display has to be seen to be believed. Pictures don't do it justice.

I got it to synch thanks to an Apple phone service.

I also took the AT&T plan. I have gotten frustrated many times with my older one when the wi FI wouldn't work.

I took the minimum plan.

Now here's my question: does having AT&T operable mean that it works BEFORE the WiFi? I am hoping AtT&T kicks in when the wifi isn't operable. That's the way the iPhone works.

If not, I'll burn through the minimum plan in a flash!

Thanks to the Good Samaritan who answers it.

Wifi is primary. But get the AT&T app to monitor use.

Ill get the app now. Always appreciative of the good will of folks on these boards and hope to return th favor to someone else.

You can also turn off cellular data in settings if you get concerned. I bought the 4g but didn't sign up for cellular data and won't until I go out of town and need it.

Now that my 3 is operable let me evaluate the latest and greatest.

The display is extraordinary! Especially the print and type in my IBook.

The camera is wayyyy better than the 2.

I like the speech to text function.

The 2 was fast. The 3 is very fast.

I don't really notice an appreciable difference in the thickness or the weight.

Very pleased I was fortunate enough to be able to afford and to obtain it. I've become an Apple convert pretty much across the board. The iPad though, really stands out and above in terms of their capacity, both through the quality nd services of the device that Apple provides, and through the availability of so many creative apps.

Taken together the iPad really can enable a person to leverage the best technology can offer so that the user can be the best (s)he would aspire to be.

My DH got one today - happy birthday, hon!
We weren't necessarily planning on buying it but we talked about it today, and I was persuaded to get this for his birthday present. Our sleepy little Best Buy still had them in stock as of 7:30pm tonight.
The display is really amazing - it looks like a fake demo screen or the commercial.

If you are predominately in a WiFi area, go to preferences and turn off "Celluar Data", with will make sure you stay on WiFi. When you are outside and need cellular, turn it back on then.
