IOA tickets?

From Universalorlando.com website:

•The 7-Day Base Ticket entitles one (1) guest admission to BOTH UOR theme parks on the same day for the duration of the base ticket. Ticket is valid for any seven (7) calendar days during a fourteen (14) consecutive calendar day period which includes the first day any portion of the ticket is used. This ticket also includes fourteen (14) consecutive calendar days of admission to the paid entertainment venues of Universal CityWalk® ("CityWalk") which commences and includes the first day any portion of the ticket is used.

So, the answer is yes. All multi-day tickets expire 14 days after the first use. If you are planning on visiting twice in the same year, then I highly suggest just getting an Annual Pass. A 7 ticket is $175 and an Annual Pass is $220. However, with an Annual Pass you get 365 days of use from the time you use the ticket once. Plus, you also get a ton of discounts on food, gifts, and rooms onsite.

There are no "non-expiring" tickets currently available at Universal. All tickets...including APs expire.

thanks for the help..
I guess what i meant to say was if i purchase tickets from UT and end up not going to Universal..how long till those tickets expire? 2013?

Well, normally the tickets expire on Dec. 31st of the year you bought them if they follow the way Disney does things. You could start your 7 day ticket on the 31st and be fine, but it has to be started before the end of the year.

However, I am not 100% sure on this. I also do not know when the cutoff is. I mean, a person that purchases tickets on Dec. 30 will most likely not start using them until after the 31st.

To be safe, DO NOT purchase tickets if you trip is longer than a year away! I would suggest purchasing your tickets no more than 2 months early unless you are booking a package. If you book a package, then the tickets will be fine since it is part of a package and you can book those almost a year ahead of time. However, if you are just getting tickets, I would get them no sooner than 2 months before you leave. Its better to be safe than sorry when you arrive to find out the tickets you purchased 6 months ago are expired!

So tickets (like the ones from Costco) have a date on them, and it is awhile away. Those tickets normally expire around 2013 or 2014, but make sure to read the fine print on them to make sure it is true!

If you purchase them but do not use them at all for entrance, they can be used anytime. The only exceptions I can think of are the Cosco tickets and the Mardi Gras specials like from Coke or Burger King.

Lots of people snatched up the $99/week tickets before prices were raised. They are good forever until you activate them.
