So it looks like IoA will have early entry starting on 12/25. We will be there later in the week - but wondering what we should do for Hagrid’s? It won’t be open for early entry - but when would you get in line??

Yikes. I would assume that people are going to line up as soon as they are allowed in the park. Maybe it won't be so bad being an hour earlier but right now the crowds are split between going to EE or Hagrids. If everyone is going to the same park, getting into the park itself will probably be a bigger bottleneck.

We found that getting there before 8 for a 9 open worked really, really well when the ride opened and didn't have delays. I hate to say 7 for an 8 EE open, but that's what I'd suggest knowing nothing more than I know now.

It looks like both parks will have early entry for the holidays, with quite a few attractions that aren't Hagrids open at IoA. Interesting. I assume they're hoping that a large number of people (especially those without EP) will decide to ride the open rides and not wait for Hagrid's. But that seems pretty hard to predict.

Any guesses what the plan is for early entry in January and February?

I thought staying at a Universal property meant early entry. Like every day. Is that not the case? We are checking in to Endless Summer this weekend.

There is early entry I believe every day (someone can correct me on that) but since Hagrid’s has been open they have just been doing early entry on the universal studios side - not islands of adventure.

There is early entry every day for resort guests - one hour before park opening. Currently it is only for (and has been for some time) Universal Studios. IoA will have early entry for a few days in late December, but Hagrids will not be one of the rides that will open early.

Even in Universal Studios it's only Minions, Escape from Gringotts and Olivanders that open for early guests.

Likewise at Disney MK, EMH do not have all rides open.

It won't be both parks open for early entry for the holidays (if you're counting "holidays" to be their Nov 16th-Jan 5th dates for their festive activities). It's hit, or miss. You'll have the check to see which exact dates will have EE for both parks to know the specifics.

As for January and February, to find out the details you'll have to look at the Universal app. On the website, they only post by month.
