I know we are insane, but that's just the way we roll:rotfl2: Anyway - we are staying in Emerald Island and wanted to spend a few days exploring Universal. We will be there December 22 - Jan 1 alternating between Disney and US. Anyone have any plans of attack? I know to be there before it opens, but which way to go once we are there? Thanks!

You'll want to visit before 12/26 or there's a good chance you won't even get in the park...at least in the morning. The week before is manageable but busy as you would expect.

What about shooting for late afternoon/evening on the days after the 26th? Is Christmas Day too crowded to even attempt?

All of the Orlando themeparks are PACKED the week between Christmas and New Years. If you are going to try it, get there BEFORE opening and be ready to go.Be aware that onsite resort guests get in an hour early and have resort guest express pass, so you will arrive at opening to the general public with already lots of people in the park and long waits..That said if you do it , be aware that wait times are going to be very long. You may want to purchase express pass ( there is no free version of it unless you stay onsite). It allows you shorter waits and one ride per attraction ( except on :Rip Ride Rocket, Pteranodon Flyers, Forbidden Journey and Ollivanders wand shop).Express pass is not cheap for those dates it is anywhere from $59-99 a person per PARK/ PER DATE, not including admission tickets to the parks.Price of the passgoes up with projected crowds and they do sell out that week. You will want to try and hit Wizarding World of Harry Potter first thing or save it till the end of the park day.Last year Universal also experienced capacity closures along with Seaworld,Disney and Legoland

I was wondering the same thing we are in town Dec 23 to Jan 1st. Planning on seaworld on the 25th MK on the 26th and was trying to figure out the best day to do IOA. We weren't originally planning on doing any Parks but we are bringing someone who has never been and they asked if we could do some parks especially IOA.
