So this December will be my first trip to WDW/IOA with my DSLR...I've enjoyed maximizing my "bridge" camera (S3 IS). You can do rather well if you really try and know what you are doing but some things are just more fun with a DSLR lets face it.

I just talked to my parents who took a trip to WDW/IOA recently and they said that IOA lets no one on rides with bags/purses/larger cameras and that you have to put them in lockers before each ride. From the sound of this it sounds like maybe I should just bring my S95 to IOA and leave the DSLR for WDW as I've heard they don't have trouble with just putting the camera bag at your feet on rides(do people do this with Rock'n'rollercoaster too?

My current bag is a Crumpler 7 million dollar home but I am thinking about buying a different one that's a little smaller and possibly a backpack style as that might be easier in WDW. Feel free to share your experiences with both parks.

Universal is very strict about not letting people on many rides with bags/cameras/anything not in your pockets. The lockers don't take too long to acquire, but it can be a hassle sometimes. And if your bag is too big, then you're just out of luck. So if you're with impatient people, it'll probably be best to just use a p&s.

Disney is the complete opposite. You can take your camera and bags
on everything. On the Rock 'n' Roller coaster (and most other rides), i usually just stick one leg through one of my bag's straps, and am good to go. So i wouldn't hold back on what to take to WDW.

IoA did not let me on with a dSLR. I had to check my bag into a locker for all the major rides. FWIW - I have a LowePro ProRunner 200AW backpack for the camera and it only JUST fitted into the lockers.

I'm still glad that I took the dSLR to IoA because when I wasn't on a ride, I could use it to take shots.

And I did take the bag on RnRC. Stuck a leg in one strap and wrapped the other round my wrist. Thankfully, nothing broke.

I have that same exact bag. I remember the first time I tried to fit it in a locker, I was totally nervous it wouldn't fit. But it could JUST squeeze in, like you said.
