Hey- I was online looking at invitations today....and I did not find any that sang out to me....who are you using for invitations? I do not want a secraming disney invit but with a little tocu would be nice and I am so tight I do not want to spend a bunch. We are doing a reception at home and so I am sending another invit for that as well. Help

we used Shelley at Impressions, and used the Carlson Craft invites with custom reception cards...

this was our invite:

but we didn't use those reception cards b/c we didn't like the mickey and minnie...

Shelley will do custom invites for you, if you want to be more subtle about the Disney, but you will have to pay the disney licensing fee...(that's what makes it expensive, and deterred us from the custom invites)

I've used Jenny, she's actually a member here on the boards. www.sassydesignco.com

She had a design with a hidden very small mickey mouse in the pattern. She is really fun to work with.

I used My Gatsby.com and they were very easy to do and did not break the bank.

allison i also didnt want something disney but i wanted it to fit my theme, so i bought garden themed gazebo invitations from birchcraft at alltheinvitations.com which is a discount site.

I did the same thing as you--a reception at disney and one at home. I also had a large disney invitation list (dh's family is huge and I wanted to invite my cousins (i'm close with) so I couldn't really tell mil that he couldn't). So, just a tip, but I sent out the invites to all the disney invited guests with a note card stating that if they were unable to attend in Disney there would be a local reception (hint, hint, not invited to both) and a response card that stated:

M-------
___ will attend the Disney reception
___ will attend the local reception
___ cannot attend either reception

Now--I was having a buffet, so I could do this cleanly without having to worry about the beef v chicken response card.

Just an idea. Also, I found the Sassydesignco to have beautifully tactful invitations. However, I found them when I was looking for round two of my invites (the ones that were ONLY invited to the local reception) and my dh thought it would be tacky to send disneyish invitations to people who were not invited to disney.

Good luck!

are those invitation sites all run by the same company? most of them got the exact same cards! any place to by it from the source for cheap?

I was thinking of using www.whiteaisle.com they can actually do some custom things like add a castle to the modern invites and they are well priced. I also liked that you only need to buy 25!

We did a Carlson Craft product too, one that just had a castle. They were very pretty and subtle. I don't recall the item number, but I know if you search for castle you'll find it on their site.

Hey there... I just bought my invites on Ebay. They have hundreds of different invites... and the woman I'm dealing with is going to hold them for me until we know all the information... we aren't deciding on our ceremony site until 2 weeks from now (when my fiance goes back down to FL to take pics of SBP). There were so many different types - Disney and floral and other types. :sunny:
