I need some advice from you all! We are going to have the custom wedding in FLA at the begining of MAY 08 and then at the end of the month after the honeymoon we are going to have a reception at home. What do we say on the invite? Is it rude to give them the option of one OR the other on the reply card....
EXAMPLE

Yes. Will attend wedding in FLA MAY 08
No. Will not attend
OR
Yes. Will attend Celebration in Toronto
No. Will not attend

You may have people that want to attend both.. so, just in case, I would do it with And/Or

Yes. Will attend wedding in FLA MAY 08
No. Will not attend
AND/OR
Yes. Will attend Celebration in Toronto
No. Will not attend

As a fellow Canuck, I love this idea! My DF and I are planning a small reception back home also, and will likely do the same on our invitations.

Thanks for posting!

We had our custom in Disney and we are inviting all those people who came plus the rest who were unable to make it to the one here in NJ. I figured I'd let them say no if they wanted to. I didn't want anyone to feel left out. Plus, the ones who made it to FL might want to brag a bit about how wonderful it was.... just a thought. ;)

You can also phrase your invitation in a way that asks your guests to RSVP one of the following:
- Your wedding ceremony and reception at WDW on May 8th
- Attend reception in Toronto on mm/dd/yy
- Cannot attend

Still, the above can beg the question, "why can't I attend both?" If you have guests attending at WDW, chances are they'll also want to be at your home reception. If I was a guest, I would probably feel that way unless something occurred at WDW changed my mind. :rotfl: So yes, you'd end up providing them with a nice meal at WDW and a second one at home. I've been thinking about that dilemma for a while and haven't come to any conclusions.

Does anyone have any ideas for the wording of the at-home reception invitations? We are only have family at the wedding in DW...I'm not sure how to word the invitation to the at-home reception.

Yes, if anyone has any suggestions on wording for the reception at home, that would be great--we need help too!:scared:

..love this forum--soo addictive! :daisy:

We are also doing the at home reception b/c only family is coming to the WDW wedding and wanted help with the wording on the invitation?

I am getting married on Halloween at a small B&B in New Jersey. I had special Halloween style invitations made that will be going to those invited ( small affair - 28 people total including us). I am now in the process of ordering my invitations for our wedding luncheon taking place 3 days later. this invite is going to all the people who were invited to the wedding and additional guests.

our luncheon invites will read as follows:

"with this ring, I ask you to be mine"
MICHELLE & JAIME
are delighted to invite you to their
post-wedding luncheon
on Saturday November Third 2007

CALLA LILY PRINT

THE MARINA GRAND
GREAT KILLS, STATEN ISLAND NY
Celebration to begin at one o'clock
RSVP

I don't know if this helps you at all, my affair is more on the informal side and we wanted that warmth to come through. as we are doing silk Calla lillies for centerpieces and as part of our favors, we elected to have this on the invite.

my invitation person was a huge help to me. I advised her what we were having and where and she gave us some ideas.....

good luck and many congrats!

Thank you to all for the advice.....As it turns out EVERYONE is coming to FLA for the wedding...So much for a small little wedding....We are now having about 80 in WDW from my side plus 25 from DF. There will not be a reception at home but it will be kinda cool for everyone to be there! Best wishes to all those brides hosting the reception at home!

Hi all. Thought you all on this thread might have some ideas for me. I am having a 5 year anniversary party here in NJ with a Mickey theme. I picked out cute black and white Mickey & MInnie invites, and want just a little touch of Mickey in the wording. And ideas?:grouphug:
