Hey all -

I know there are a few buried threads about this, but I just want to see what you all think about mine. Without it getting buried. :rotfl:

______________________________________________________________

Because you have shared in their lives by your friendship and love,
you are invited to share with our daughter

Meghan Kathleen
and
Robert William L________

When they exchange marriage vows and begin their new life together on
Monday, October Twelfth
at Noon
Sea Breeze Point
Boardwalk Resort
Lake Buena Vista, Florida

Mr. James M__________ and Ms. Lucy V________
______________________________________________________________

Now my questions concern the date and location - I wasn't sure how to write those out and was curious how others have gone about it. And the whole capitalization thing. I'm a writing tutor at UMaine, but wedding invitations are outside my expertise.

I don't think you need to capitalize the date and all of the year... My changes are in bold.

My suggestions:

when they exchange marriage vows and begin their new life together on
Monday, the twelfth of October,
Two thousand and nine
at noon (or "at twelve o'clock in the afternoon", if you want it a bit fancier)

at Sea Breeze Point, Walt Disney World, Florida

Mr. James M_________ and Ms. Lucy V_________

I don't know, I think "with" sounds a bit better... but I am just a biochemistry major, not an english one, so you probably have it right! :rotfl: And giving the year its own line and just capitalizing the first part of it seems a bit better... But again, I am no professional in this, just trying to offer some friendly advice! :thumbsup2

I agree with Sarah <3 Disney about the date- especially adding the year.

Something else I noticed-- You have:
Sea Breeze Point
Boardwalk Resort
Lake Buena Vista, Florida

The BoardWalk is technically spelled with a Capital W- if you look at the Disney logo and literature. For something as formal as an invite I would use it's full name:

Sea Breeze Point
Disney's BoardWalk Resort
Lake Buena Vista, Florida

Hope that helps a little Meg! You'll have to post your finished product! :goodvibes

Thanks! :thumbsup2 The BW spelling is one of my pet peeves :rotfl: and actually something a lot of people (including my MIL) don't realize. She knows now- b/c she initially messed it up on the rehearsal dinner invites! Oopsie! :lmao:

I thought with sounded better as well! But for some reason the template I found had by. I'm a Social Work major with a minor in English, so I'm just as lost. Give me a paper with MLA and APA formatting issues and I'm much more comfortable! :rotfl:

Thanks Sarah! :goodvibes

I definitely will! I didn't know that about the BoardWalk. Geez, I've been mis-capitalizing it all along. Thanks for the info on that! :thumbsup2 As long as our printer behaves (it look two hours last night to get it to print one mockup invitiation correctly), we should have one done tonight! :cool1:
