Invitation to preview Golden Oak at WDW

I just received an email invitation to preview Golden Oak on my upcoming visit to WDW.

Has anyone done the preview?

I'm curious how long it takes.

I was thinking of doing it just out of curiosity, but not if it takes too long.

If nothing else, i'm sure it will be interesting.

i would assume everyone staying at WDW is receiving it - i mean i'm staying at a value resort (AoA), so there's no reason i've been targeted in particular.

the only problem with going to a preview of this nature, is then i'll feel badly that i can't afford it!!!

but still i'm interested in seeing it....a bit of masochism on my part???

I just booked two trips so I'm curious if I'll get the invitation too. It sounds as if it's not doing well if they're advertising it like this. But, then again, DVC is well advertised just not necessarily in this way.

i'm definitely going to try to go - i'm trying to talk my sister into it...we could do it on the morning of the day we're going to the halloween party..

i just thought of a reason i might have been targeted, but i don't know if they have it on my record....two years ago, i used their VIP service in the parks - so maybe they have it recorded somewhere? or maybe not...maybe it was just random.....

anyway, should be interesting...i love looking at floorplans of new properties...and i love it when people ask me to help them look for a house where i live....so much fun to go around looking at houses!!

sounds like a kind of snooty place to me, but maybe since it will be a disney fan community, it won't be so bad?

anyway, they're building upscale houses right on disney property...
i guess next to fort wilderness? somewhere in that area...

Is there any possibility of taking Disney Transportation to Golden Oak?

you mean to see the area now?

i assume that if you make an appointment to see it, they'll pick you up from your resort....(just like they do for DVC)

DH has been talking about retiring at 55. I'll tell him he can't retire until he can afford a house at Golden Oaks. LOL!
