Investigation of "the shocker"

Okay disboard gods and goddesses, dont be mad at me for bringing this topic back up (I promise to keep it clean and stick to the facts and only the facts.) My fiancee and I just returned from our fabulous trip to Disney last night. I want to go BACK!!!! :flower:
Anyhow, during our trip, we OF COURSE went to RNRC and decided to keep our eyes peeled for Steven Tylers alleged hand gesture. Here's the conclusion we came to: He does in fact put up the necessary fingers to make the gesture...HOWEVER he doesnt flash the symbol the way you would if you were to make the gesture with the intended sexual meaning. He holds his fingers up to his head as he is "looking" at the audience in the recording studio. Neither of us got the feeling that he was being sexual....just, as my fiancee said, being a little flamboyant as usual.

I never knew what The Shocker was until someone mentioned it on these boards.

Also if it happens for just a moment I will be riding R&R Coaster several times so I can go back through and look again and again.

Other interesting things to look for, not all jump out at you at first sight:

I was there last week and of course had to look for it too. He does put his hand up to his forhead like he is looking at the audience. Before he puts the ring finger down. He kinda of moves or "pumps" his thumb 2 times before putting his ring finger down. I believe that it is some sort of signal to someone. Kind of like when someone tugs on their ear on camera.

I am going in a couple of weeks and will definitely be taking a look at this one!!!

I was also there after the original thread appeared. I also watched the preshow very carefully (twice) looking for this alleged gesture. It was not there. Yes, there was a gesture that was kinda similar but it was not the "shocker". It was done very quickly and I'm sure was just a meaningless gesture as he was talking.

This is the third time this subject has been addressed...first two threads have been 'shut-down'. Can nobody get the hint here?

I only posted this because everyone on previous posts seemed so gung-ho to support that Steven Tyler was being pervy. I didnt see any evidence to support this and I (very carefully, and CLEANLY) was just adding that in. Im definitely NOT trying to start anything here.

I've been around awhile and this is the first I've heard of this. Seems innocent enough? :confused3

Maybe some of us are interested in the opinions of those who have been on the ride lately. This is where I come to get WDW info and advice, and that's what's being offered.

Why do people who are uncomfortable with certain topic keep coming back to read them?? It's people like you who turn legitimate topics into debates.

Now the lines are going to be outrageous on RnR because all of the DIS people will want to ride it to see if Steven Tyler is indeed making the alledged sign! Grab a FP, folks, this could get ugly!

Which means, of course, that they are channelling Carol Burnett.....

I'm sorry you feel that way. It's just that most people, in the recent past, have been unable to discuss this preshow without the thread getting shut down. Nothing has changed in this ride since it opened. My opinion is about as good as someones who has just been on the attraction, even though I haven't ridden it since November. No way could my 'comment' be construed as turning something into a debate...just the opposite.
