Don't Look Down..........continued
We meet up with the rest of the crew at Epcot
and convince DD to do TT with us. Last year she changed her mind just as we were about to get through the doors to get on the ride after standing in line for 20 minutes. SG helped a lot with keeping her calm and not letting her chicken out. Of course by the time we got off the ride DD wanted to go again. I, like DD, wanted to go again too, but we wanted to do a few other shows and rides before we ate dinner and watched the fireworks.
Turtle Talk is a cute show. The kids really love Crush. Then finding Nemo. Ok, but the kids like it and that is what we are here for, right???
Did they know WE were coming???
Stand still and act rite.
Having fun with the shark.
Next we decide to go on the pumpkin ride aka the land. Nothing fancy or exhilarating here but fascinating the way they create some of the things and able to grow some veggies without planting them in the ground. The MH pumpkins were cool too.
Lets try Soarin. We have 35 mins til ADR @ CR and 20 min wait for Soarin. Ok, lets give it a shot.
The good thing about rushing is that we have 4 of the Bushwackers that are afraid of heights. We explained to them if they get scared to just look for the edge of the screen to get their bearings. Having to rush kept their minds from thinking too much. Along with the games while standing in line; beating each other up trying to slap and pop the balloons flying on the walls. I think I pulled a muscle.
The line actually goes a little quicker than the posted time. 15 minutes. Wahoo. We wont have to run to the Coral Reef. We get everyone secured and our bags jammed into the little nets under the seats and up we goooo. We pop out of the clouds and half way over the golden gate bridge the screen goes blank and all the lights come on along with a recording of please remain in your seats while we correct the situation. Now where did they think we were going to go? We were 30 feet in the air for crying out loud. I wasnt planning on leaving my seat. This recording repeated itself every 60 seconds.
As I noted before, 4 of us are afraid of heights. CL, who is sitting next to me, probably more than the rest of us. I am sure you can imagine, my right arm is now permantly scarred from her nails. I tried to comfort her and calmly tell her: DONT LOOK DOWN. You might see Philbbes ugly, sez DM, nail-less toes. (dont worry Scott, no pics here). As bad as I wanted to, I did not try to rock the swing that we were in. It may have messed up a couple of appetites and we had very important ressies that I was afraid we were going to miss if they didnt correct the situation ASAP.
Instead of bringing us down to ground level we were stuck in the air for 15 minutes. Thats right, only 5 minutes to get to CR for our special ressie. As soon as we are grounded, I tell SG to sprint over to check in for us. As it worked out we were able to get to CR on time with not a minute to spare.
LM and DD waiting outside CR.
We waited about 10 mins for our table and our waiter, Jim, handed out our personalized menus. It took a minute for everyone to realize that their picture was on the menu. The look on the faces were priceless. I wish I could say I have pics of this, but sorry I did not expect the expressions that I saw.
While we were waiting for our appetizers, the diver came to the window in front of our table. He only had LBs name on the banner but everyone enjoyed it just as well. I really surprised CL. She had no clue to what was going on. I made some brownie points.
Kiss me Baby.
The food at CR was fantastic, as was our waiter, Jim. He was probably the best waiter of the trip for us. Most of the Bushwackers ate the Alaskan King Crab Legs but LB got the NY Strip, I got the shrimp pasta & DD got the Pizza.
Mmmm Mmmm Good.
Sharing a drink
The desserts very good also. CL was very disappointed that they were out of the Butterscotch Crème Brulee. I got the Baileys & Jack Mousse. CL decided to get a latte while LM and DD got the childrens dessert of a scoop of ice cream with decorations on the side.
I think this is the Chocolate Wave?
Bailey's & Jack Mousse.
CL's latte...
Kids decorations...
LM begged for the alcohol soaked cherry on SGs Chocolate Wave.
We were here a little bit longer that we thought and were not able to get out in time to see the firework show so we had to fight the crowd going the wrong way out of Epcot through the international gateway.
Night Time in Epcot is so beautiful...
We were able to catch a couple of shows on the boardwalk though.
Coming Soon....Grey Goose's & Fireworks.
