Hi Girls,

I've been a long time lurker on these boards and seen many brides come and post their gorgeous plans and even gorgeous-er weddings! :lovestruc

But...I haven't seen an introduction thread and I thought it might be nice to introduce ourselves, especially for those who don't yet have a planning journal! :thumbsup2

So....here's mine....

I'm Rohais, I'm 21 years old, from England and I'm currently in my second year of law school. I've been with my DF Gary since November 18th 2008 and we got engaged at AKL, WDW on August 31st 2009.
I've planned most of my wedding already...but mostly only in my head! We're not going to be able to get married for a few years yet, as we're going to be paying for the wedding ourselves and don't want to add any loans to our student debt. So...we're going to be seriously saving! But, we're hoping for around 2014 (I refuse to get married in 2013!).
We haven't quite decided on a month yet, but the ceremony is very likely going to be held at Sea Breeze Point with the pre-reception, and reception, at the Whitehall Room.
I'd love to have a planning journal, but I don't know if people would be interested with it being so far away!

So...that's me! I thought I should finally drag myself out of lurkdom and join in the fun and games!
Over to you! :wizard:

Welcome from another UK bride and congratulations on planning your wedding :)

Hi Sarah! Thanks for saying hello :thumbsup2 What are your plans for your wedding so far? :upsidedow

Thanks for your lovely introduction Rohais, what a great idea for a thread!

I too am a law student, in my third and final year; I intend to take a totally different step and go into primary school teaching though. My DF, Andrew, loves everything about law and is a criminal barrister.

We met in August 2006 at a Wendys in Orlando through mutual friends. DF was on the international college program, working as a lifeguard at Pop for the summer, and I had just arrived to work as a Canadian cultural rep in World Showcase for a year. We started dating after a magical day at Epcot together :goodvibes

We got engaged on March 27, 2008 (DFs grandparents' wedding anniversary) on the beach of the Grand Floridian, after a lovely meal at V&A.

We now live together in London and are very excitedly planning our August 2, 2010 wedding :goodvibes I have a link to my planning journal below, but due to my trying to get through a degree right now it doesn't have very much information. Only 67 days until I'm done though, after that I will be on the disboards everyday :thumbsup2

I'm Kelly, you will find out lots about me in my PJ, linked in my sig....but in general "about me" style, I am 32, fast approaching 33. Adrian and I met a few years back at work, started dating, moved in together, and the rest is history! We are a fun loving, disney crazy family, and are very un-traditional about most things...we just love to live life to the fullest, and travel to WDW as much as possible!

I work at a web services company as an HR Advisor and Trainer, Adrian works at a call cente as an Escalation Agent currently and is waiting to find out the date that he will leave for Basic Training for the Canadian Military....we are ecpecting it to be right after our wedding.

We are getting married at WP on Sept 22, 2010, going on a 4 day DCL cruise, and then coming back to WDW for a 3 day Deluxe Dining extravaganza! We are DVC members since last August, and are staying at both BWV and BLT on our trip, so excited!

I am an OCD planner, and that means that basically every little detail is already planned to almost the point of over-planned (not that there is such a thing). I still reserve the right to change my mind at least nce a week, but have decided that my budget is now at it's cap, so any changes I make now will have to be free ones!

Nice to meet you all and congrats on the impending nuptuals! :cheer2:

Hi girls! :goodvibes

Nitsa: Hey! Congratulations for almost finishing your degree! What age are you hoping to teach? Its cool that your DF is a criminal barrister! I was initially thinking about being a criminal solicitor BUT after reading about being on call at all hours, I'm hoping to be a medical negligence solicitor. My DF is at the same university as me, and is a computer gaming - modelling and animation - student.
I'm assuming that you're originally from Canada, as you were working as a cultural rep?

Kelly: I'm slowly (or not so slowly) introducing my DF to the wonders of Disney! I love the sound of going on a DCL cruise for part of our honeymoon, but I don't know if our budget would be able to stretch that far :sad2: OMG you're a DVC member! I'm sooooo jealous :thumbsup2 I would *love love love* DVC at either AKV or BLT! Have you stayed at BLT before? I'd give a kidney to stay there! I know what you mean about OCD! I've got diagnosed OCD and one of my strains if perfectionism and planning! So far, I've had 27 different planning books and all of them have gone in the bin. Currently, I'm typing everything up...more to save my wrist than my mind though! :rolleyes1

Nice to meet you all! :goodvibes I'll be heading over to your PJs asap! ;)

This is a wonderful idea for a thread!

I am forever lurking around the boards looking at other brides PJ's but I know it's pointless starting one myself at the moment.

So... introductions...
I'm Rebekah, aged 23 and from Liverpool in England. I've been with my fiance now for 7 years (childhood sweethearts :lovestruc) and we have been engaged for just over 2. I decided around a year ago that I would love a wedding at Disney and so a wedding at Disney it is! We visited Disney World last year for the first time (I have been to the Anaheim and Paris Disney many times but nothing is like the Florida one!) and had a good look around Wedding Pavillion and I was just mesmirised by it all, so beautiful.

Now, we are going to be saving and paying for the wedding ourselves and the increase in the minimums of the weddings are just getting me down every year! Hopefully we can still afford it. The reason we cannot get married at the moment is because I'm just in the process of moving to Canada  Big step, but the process has been going through for 3 and a half years so it's all very exciting.

Can't wait to hear about everybody elses upcoming nupitals!

OMG you're a DVC member! I'm sooooo jealous :thumbsup2 I would *love love love* DVC at either AKV or BLT! Have you stayed at BLT before? I'd give a kidney to stay there!

I haven't stayed at BLT yet but fell IN LOVE with the model room at my sales presentation - the night before my wedding we have a 1 bdrm for myself and my 2 nieces, and then have a BLT Studio for the 3 days of Deluxe Dining when we get back from the cruise.

Kelly :goodvibes That sounds great! DF and I went round the DVC showroom in September and fell in love with it. I'm trying to wangle even a one-night stay there during our next trip! :thumbsup2

Rebekah! :goodvibes Liverpool! My DF is an avid support of Liverpool football club lol :confused3 Wow...7 years! That would make you...16? Thats so sweet :lovestruc I've been once to DLPR once, when I was about 8, but haven't been since. Whenever I price a trip up, it look so expensive...especially when its not that far off going to WDW for two weeks :wizard: I haven't looked around either Sea Breeze Point or the Wedding Pavillion yet, but the photos I've seen...gorgeous! We're hoping to do a 'site visit' in August 2011...which is hopefully our next trip. I know what you mean about the increase in the cost of things each year...especially when salaries etc seem to stay the same :sad2: I was looking at Misty Miotto at some point last year, next thing I knew, her prices had jumped up  Oooh...Canada. Any particular reason for the big move? Hope it all goes smoothly!

:goodvibes

Rohais... ooh, your DF and I would not get alone - I'm a huge Evertonian! Haha.

You should definately do a site visit, it's more than worth it! I had always been adament that I wanted to get married in Sea Breeze Point, but once I visited Wedding Pavillion, that was it, I was in love  My DF was dead set against a Disney wedding... he thought it would be extremely "tacky", but once he seen WP he even agreed it was beautiful. I would definately advise doing it.

I know what you mean about DLPR, it probably costs just as much to go there as it does Florida! I went to DLPR a couple of years ago for 3 dats and it cost aound £500. I went to Florida the year later and stayed in All Stars for £620 for 2 weeks! Madness!

Canada just really appeals to me... I've always wanted to move away somewhere and for some reason, I've gone to Canada. Never been though, taking my first trip there in May!

I bet your finding it hard trying to plan a wedding while you're in university and studying, I know the exact feeling! I was still in uni when I got engaged and your studies take up all of your time. It will fly over though, is law a 3 year degree too? xx

Oooh, Everton! :sad2: lol

I really wish it was cheaper to go to DLPR but its just not worth it, personally, with how much it costs! I'd rather not go and save up that extra money to go to WDW! £620 for two weeks! I might think about an All Stars or Pop Century...I've been to WDW 3 times. The first two visits were POFQ and then the third was AKL. We're thinking of heading back to POFQ if there is a free dining offer, but if not then I might think about Pop :thumbsup2

I have a disability so, when I'm not in university or can't work because of it, I plan plan plan! I'm not in uni this week, as I've had some bad news and was at a funeral yesterday, so I'm taking the time for myself and getting myself back on track...and planning does that for me! At the moment, I don't have too much going on at uni but after Easter  Oh, and yep, its a three year degree :goodvibes What did you do at uni? x
