Hi everyone!

I just joined the board pretty recently and wanted to formally introduce myself! My name's Laura and my DF's name is David... we are both finishing up our last years of college and just got engaged Dec.21, 1986 at WDW on my birthday!

We definitely want a DFTW and have thrown around about a million different dates, right now we're thinking maybe something in October of 2008.

Anyways, just wanted to say hi! Is there anyone else on here living in the Pensacola area? Maybe we could plan together! lol

We want the Wedding Pavilion definitely and will most likely be doing a custom wedding. Originally we were thinking Ariel's for the reception but now I'm starting to think about other places, I can't remember the name of the one I chose on my wishbook earlier so I'll keep ya posted on that... It's 5:00 and the workday is over so I'm headed to the gym!

BTW, thanks for the congrats! I can't wait to start planning and sharing!

Hi Laura I was born on Feb 21 '86...so im older lol...just kidding. Congrats on the engagement! Everytime I see the pic of him proposing to you in the park I go "awww.." and my DF goes "are you looking at wedding cr*p again?!" lol!! I'm not from Pensacola, but I was in a friends wedding there. Its a beautiful place. I'll see you around the boards!

Actually no, I'm not a ZTA... I'm actually in a local sorority founded at my campus 10 years ago called Zeta Psi Eta, and I just was voted President for the next school year- so I'm terrified! I'll be working, going to school (15 credit hrs), and finally getting to live with my fiance for a semester so trying to spend time with him AND trying to run a sorority- what am I thinking? lol

Most of the national sororities here are just not my thing... I've been to other friend's schools and met girls from sororities there and they were great- but at UWF a lot of them are snobby and rude. I went to one night of recruitment my freshman year and I can't remember which sorority said this but they were like "If you don't date an SAE then you should just leave" or something like that and I was like C-ya! lol...

So anyways, didn't mean to get so off-topic there!

By the way- I think we may have set a date? We're thinking of October 5, 2008- how does that sound? Quick question too- do I have to wait until Oct.5, 2007 to call to reserve my place or can I call sooner? Thanks!

Congrats on being President. If your old Pres is still around make sure you get her help when you need it. Once you get back into the swing of work, school, and spending time with your fiance I'm sure being president won't be too bad!

Yes, you have to wait until Oct 5 of this year to call. I am getting married May 20 of next year. Since May 20 of this year was on a Sunday I had to wait til Monday the 21st. They aren't open on weekends and some holidays. I actually called a few days early and my information was passed on to someone and I got a call the day after (definitely within 3 business days). I was able to ask the lady a few questions about getting married there and then she told me to call her back directly to hold my date.

Once you call they will tell you that you need to reserve your room minimums and then call them back within 3 days to give them the confirmation number, THEN they will send a contract out.

We've decided to do the Escape wedding. We have family from all over and we figured it would be easier to have close family and friends travel down to Florida and then we will go back home and have a few receptions.

The price for the Escape weddings went up but apparently they include Annual Passes for the Bride and Groom. I'd assume custom weddings are the same, but I'm not sure. I'm so excited.

Hi Zeta! First of all, Congratulations on your engagement!! Seondly, isn't December 21st the most amazing date?? That was my wedding date!! You were getting proposed to while I was getting married.....
