Introduction

Hello to all you fine people I've started lurking on this board and thought I would introduce myself. Our family are total Disney Nuts and have adopted the tradition of going on a regular basis. I have a Timeshare on the Gulf Beaches the week of Thanksgiving so we have settled into doing Disney the week before we go to the beach. Love Love Love this arrangement. It helps with the Disney Vacation Blues you get the week after you leave when you soften the blow with a week on the beach

Anyway, we are a family of 5. Budget minded as we are I'm thinking that camping might be a great way to save. We do have a pop up but since we are driving from Michigan and our condo the following week wont let us park it there we are looking to tent camp. We just bought a tent for some other camping needs and are about to venture out with that for several camping trips over the next few weeks. If we can in fact get a good grove going with the tent camping then I think we will give the Disney camping a whirl. Wish us luck and I look forward to reading through this board. The more info I consume the better prepared I will be

Well let me be the first to officially welcome you. I am not a camping type of guy, but I'll have my first Fort stay in about 12 days in one of the cabins. It's great that you already "know" Disney and you already "know" camping. For everything you don't know, this is the place to get your answers.

P.S. - If you haven't seen (which for many of us, it took several years to see) there is also a camping community board that could be helpful also.

I'm a lurker as well as a frequent visitor to DW. It is the best vacation for our family of 6. We love Ft. Wilderness and have stayed with the camper and with a tent. My DH and I are planning a long weekend anniversary trip in Dec. I can't wait to see the Christmas lights. I am bringing a few of my own

Sounds like you have a good plan. Is your timseshare on the gulf coast? We go to the gulf coast of alabama regularly and love it.

Now that you have come out of lurkdom please post a trip report when/after you visit the fort.
