Hello. We are planning a trip next year to Disney World and have multiple food allergies. DD has a gluten intolerance, but DS has a soy and nut allergy, as well as a gluten intolerance. I have been reading about others' experiences with dining and am interested in hearing specifically if anyone has had this particular combo of allergies and how it worked out for them dining with Disney. I have read wonderful and mediocre things about Disney's allergy free dining and am nervous about the number of food choices available for my kids. Thanks so much and I look forward to reading more experiences.

Welcome to the board.

My family doesn't have your specific set of allergies (we can do soy, only one of us is limited on tree nuts and it's only 2 specific ones and peanuts we don't worry about cross contamination) but we do have 3 people who all have multiple allergies. I do want to assure you that chefs will take good care your family. It's frustrating that the french fries have soy so your DS won't get fries but your kids will be well fed. If you look at the thread about latest products then you can look up some of the brands of premade foods to find out what options you've got that are safe. Your DD will have a really easy time as WDW seems to be really focussing a lot on gluten. Your DS is the one for whom you'll have to do more research though I am very confident that he'll still eat really well and be well taken care of.

For examples of how well WDW does with long lists of food allergies, check out my dining reviews in my signature.

Welcome!

I'm gluten and dairy and I love going to WDW to eat. They really are wonderful with food allergies and intolerances.

I know you're looking for gluten/soy/nut reviews, and I have a few gluten/dairy/soy reviews on my blog from my friend who can't have gluten/dairy/soy. He is actually a CM at Disney and eats pretty well there. I think the biggest problem he runs into is with the soy, but still they are very good at accommodating. I know the fries are usually a no-go for him (like clanmcculloch said), but overall he gets a lot of great items. And as someone who has multiple allergies/intolerances, I can vouch for Disney's willingness to accommodate.

There are a lot of reports here on the boards for multiple allergies that will show you some of the products and items available in the restaurants.

Good luck on your planning and welcome again! :thumbsup2

We are going to WDW in December. We haven't been since I was diagnosed with my new allergies. Last time we went, I was allergic to eggs, peanuts (cross contamination is a huge concern) and shellfish. I ate SO well that week.

While I don't have exactly the same allergies, I have multiple severe allergies this time around. When we go in December, I will be avoiding:

Peanuts (CC), tree nuts (CC), eggs, shellfish (CC), wheat, oats, coconut, sesame, broccoli. I also limit straight dairy (baked is okay) and soy (mainly soy flour and soy products....soy lecithin isn't an issue for me) because it does seem to cause some mild problems even though I've never had a "real" reaction and I came back negative on both tests.

I also can't have raw peaches, pears, apples, plums, nectarines, cucumber, tomato, peppers, onion, zucchini, and cantaloupe because of oral allergy syndrome.

We have been to DL a few times since I was diagnosed with all of this and service has been wonderful and WDW has always been 10x better about allergies than DL so I'm very hopeful about our trip.

I told my allergist today that we are going to WDW in December and she was so happy that we are going back because she knows how great they are about allergies. She said that is one vacation (aside from the flight) that does to concern here.
