Intro from a prosective TOT 13K runner

Hi, all. Just posted on the WISH board. To summarize, I'm overweight, on WW, used to run and walk but have some shin issues now. I'm working with a podiatrist, swimming (to build endurance and muscle tone) and starting Pilates. My goal is to be running again by July/early August, and running the TOT 13K in October. I'm interested in meeting others who are running this race.

Welcome princess. Some of us just walk our races and will be walking the ToT so if your not up to running by then you will still have plenty of company.

Welcome Aunt Goofy. Congratulations on getting back in gear for a race. It is what keeps me motivated to get out there and actually train. I will be doing TOT again this year (it was my first Disney race so I just HAVE to do it again) I am not yet registered but yesterday while still onsite I went ahead and made a reservation for the Beach Club (got a bounce back offer) Looking forward to talking with you more/

You will definitely enjoy ToT, even if you just walk! Afterall the party is at the back of the pack, don't you know. MOore than that, you will LOVE Wish!

I'm kind of new here myself. My goal is also to do the TOT this year (walking/ running...how ever I can get across the finish line :rotfl: ). Everyone here is great. I'm sure you will love it.

Yes I am 53 overweight and on WW and I do a lot of powerwalking. It will help get rid the of the pounds. I have issues with running so walking is best for me and (shhhhhhh don't tell anyone) I think it tones quicker than running.

Shins, yup they are an issue nothing like a good massage to take care of that. Treat yourself 1x a month to work out the pains you acquire.

Congrats Aunt Goofy! My wife and I are planning on participating in the TOT 13K (or 5K) this year as well. It will be our first race together. We are planning on running together as a husband-wife hobby. We can only go for 1 mile straight right now, but we plan to be running at least 5K straight by the time TOT 13k rolls around.

ToT is a great race and the medal is awesome. I've walked it twice, there are a lot of us walkers, and it is true - the party is at the back of the pack.

The race is fun and very different than most races as being night. Post race party is good for some but I haven't enjoyed it(except when everyone was running and we did TSM 6 times in a row without any lines!) :)
