Intro and Pre-Trip - Day 7 Added

The unfortunate thing was that I didn't know how much it cost to send the package until AFTER the in-laws had sent it. I called to thank them and that's when they told me "We'll just settle up when you return". :rotfl:

I think you are a great dad! :cool1: You made the best of the situation.
Looking forward to more

The unfortunate thing was that I didn't know how much it cost to send the package until AFTER the in-laws had sent it. I called to thank them and that's when they told me "We'll just settle up when you return".

Reminds me of when my friend's cat died when she was on holiday. When she got back her parents told her the sad news but tried to cheer her up by saying "we won't charge you for the food we were going to give her the second week" :rotfl:

I divided all our clothes into equal piles and so each of our three cases had a third of each family-member's clothes in it, so everyone would have a change of clothes. I also put ziplock bags with a set of nightwear and a set of swimwear in the hand luggage in case none of the cases made it

It just made me smile because so many Brits go with empty cases and stock up on clothes at the outlets, no-one would think of sending clothes from home (admittedly we're a bit further so it might cost a few dollars more ;) :earseek: ) I've not mastered travelling light but even taking older socks, undies etc. to throw away to make room for new stuff we needed an extra case (and it was FUUUUULL!)

Hope you recovered from the trauma! :wave2:

Day 3 – A visit to the porcelain god, Epcot, and “Look at the size of that thing! I’ve seen pictures, but this is the first time I’ve seen one in person.”

First off, let me describe the sleeping arrangements…. We stayed at the Poly, which had 2 wonderful, comfortable queen beds and a daybed. As soon as we walked into our room when we arrived the boys jumped on one bed and declared this was their territory. DW and I were going to take the other queen bed and DD would sleep on the daybed…….I think I got vetoed by a 2 year old girl…….Okay…..daddy sleeps on the daybed :confused3 …..Oh, well….it was comfy…..(and we’re at Disney….)

So, on to day 3….

Day 3 begins around 1:30 a.m. with DS(6) telling me he doesn’t feel good. He needs to throw up  . So, we run to the bathroom and he begins to throw up. He says he’s done and feels better. Back to bed….. About 30 minutes later, I hear him rustling in bed….I ask him if he needs to go to the bathroom again…Yes. Back to the bathroom for round 2. Round 3 happens about an hour later, and round 4 about 4:00 a.m. After that he slept pretty decent. The wake-up call comes about 6:00 a.m.

I go ahead and jump in the shower. After I get out of the shower, I wake DW (who had pretty much slept through the entire process) and ask her what she thinks. She says that she will stay in the room with DD and DS(6) for the morning while me and DS(9) go ahead with our plans to go to Epcot. We’ll see how DS(6) feels later.

So, I run over to Captain Cook’s and get some donuts and Danish Rolls for breakfast.

DS(9) and I walk over to the TTC and hop on the monorail and head to Epcot. I already had the plan in my head….Go grab fastpasses for Test Track, walk over and ride Mission Space, go ride Soarin’, and then back to Test Track. The plan worked to PERFECTION….We got the fastpasses, Mission Space was a 5 minute wait. We loved Mission Space. Now, I love most all rides, but don’t care for “spinner” rides. I know this ride is a centrifuge, but if you follow the directions, you wouldn’t know it. The ride was awesome.

After that, we walked over to Soarin’. About a 10 minute wait for Soarin’. This is another fabulous ride!! We were in the 1st row. After the ride, I looked at the time and looked at the time we were able to get our next set of fastpasses….we still had about 15 minutes before we could go on Test Track and get another set. So, back to Mission Space we went…..Still only a 5 minute wait. We rode it again….

Now it was time to ride Test Track. I love this ride.

I tell DS(9) that we should get fastpasses for Soarin’ for later, so we go get fastpasses for Soarin’. We go see Honey I Shrunk the Audience with hardly any wait.

We decide to head back to the room to see how DS(6) is doing. When we get back, he had just woken up (it was approaching noon) and he was feeling MUCH better. And DD was up and rarin’ to go since she got a little extra sleep as well.

I tell DW that I have fastpasses for her for Soarin’. DS(6) says he is all better and ready to go. They had just eaten their breakfast, so they aren’t ready for lunch or anything.

Our original plans for the day – go to Epcot in the morning, back to room for a rest, and then to Downtown Disney later for shopping – is pretty much toast now. Now we just have to wing it. Adjust and adapt…..

So, we walk back over to the TTC to catch the monorail back to Epcot. The monorail was just pulling out, so we need to wait on the next one. So we ask if we can ride up front. Sure can…. Great! They will only let 4 passengers up front, so I tell DW to ride up front with the kids. The next monorail comes along pretty quickly and we load up….I tell the boys to ask for a co-pilot’s license. I take the empty stroller and get in the 2nd car while the rest go up front.

We get off at Epcot and the boys get their co-pilot’s license. They are excited. DS(9) said he got to sit in the pilot’s seat for a little bit of the ride.

Soon, we are through security and the turnstiles and back at Epcot. I can grab another set of fastpasses now, so I run over to Test Track and get fastpasses. I meet the gang back at the fountains, and we walk over to Soarin’. DW, DS(9), and DS(6) ride using the fastpasses I got earlier and we got a child swap. They ride and DD and I go grab us some water. When DW and the boys get off the ride, the boys and I go. I think Soarin’ is a great addition to Epcot. Next we go over to Living Seas. I used to LOVE Living Seas, but now, it’s a take-it-or-leave-it kind of thing. Now, we did go to see Turtle Talk with Crush and that was pretty cool!

After Living Seas, and not quite time for our Test Track return, DS(6) wants to ride Spaceship Earth again. So we do…it’s once again a walk on. After that we are headed over to Test Track and notice that Ellen’s Universe of Energy is a walk on. So, we go do that.

After Ellen, we go to Test Track. As we pass by Mission Space, I ask DW if she wants to ride. The sign says it is a 20 minute wait, but DW says she will just pass this time around. So onward to Test Track. We get a child swap and DW and the boys use the fastpasses and head on in. I tell them I will meet them by the Corvette I let them borrow… :cool1:

About 15 minutes later, they are meeting me inside by the ‘Vette. So, now it is my turn to ride with the boys…Woo Hoo!!!

When we get off the ride, everyone decides they are getting kinda hungry. The time was about 4:00 p.m. We had a PS for Wolfgang Puck’s at Downtown Disney, but like I said, the plans for the day were pretty much out the window. So, I suggested we take the International Gateway out and walk over to Beaches and Cream. So, we walk back and take the 5 minute stroll over to the Beach Club. This walk also let DD get out of the stroller and stretch her legs and RUN WILD!!

We get to the Beach Club and the boys see the pool and the water slide and decide they want to try this resort next time. I kind of agree. Maybe a split stay between here and the Poly, since I have come to LOVE the Poly now.

We check in at Beaches and Cream and we have to wait about 5 minutes for a table. I have a Cheeseburger (hold the onions please) and fries with a vanilla malt, DW has the chicken sandwich with a chocolate shake, DS(9) has the adult chicken sandwich, DS(6) and DD(2) both have a hot dog. My cheeseburger was great and the malt was Excellent – well the part of it that I got - DD thought it was pretty tasty too….

Then I hear the bell ringing and the yelling and clapping…… :jumping1:

The people at the table right next to us ordered the Kitchen Sink!!! Woo Hoo! They brought it out to their table and I got out my camera and started taking pictures….Yeah, I took picture of other people’s food…..I’m such a voyeur…. :smooth:

I had seen pictures, but I hadn’t ever seen one in person……It’s massive…..there were 2 adults, 1 teenager, and a couple smaller kids at the table that ordered it. And they came pretty close to finishing it off…..

After we finished our food, we decided we would be wimps and only order the Fudge Mud Slide. I felt so inferior….. :sad2:

But we managed….there’s no way we could have put a dent into the Kitchen Sink after eating burgers and stuff…..

After stuffing our faces with burgers, chicken, and ice cream we waddled back over to Epcot. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t fit into DD’s stroller, or else she could have pushed me….

DW didn’t really want to go into too many of the shops (what? Is she sick now?), so we ducked in and out of just a few of them. We went to see the American Adventure. After eating at Beaches and Cream and sitting in a nice air-conditioned room, how in the world did I stay awake? But I love it….

We walked around a little more before deciding to head back to the Poly and go swimming. We get back to the room and DS(9) has his bathing suit on before the door shuts. DS(6) decides he just wants to relax, so he, DW, and DD stay in the room. DS(9) and I walk over to the volcano pool, but it was closed and someone was cleaning it. So, we walked over to the quiet pool. And boy did it live up to its name. There were probably 5 other people in the pool when we got there. So, we swam and played and splashed around. Well….DS swam and played and splashed……I still felt like a beached whale from the Beaches and Cream dinner….. :earseek:

After about half an hour DS walked over to see if the Volcano pool was open. He came back and announced that it was open, so we went over there. A couple of the younger kids that were with us in the quiet pool follow behind. We got to the volcano pool and we were the ONLY ONES THERE. We decided to try out the slide. Very cool! (my apologies to anyone who was affected by the tidal wave caused by me coming off the slide) :earseek:

We were joined by the younger boys that came over from the quiet pool and had the pool all to ourselves. We basically just went down the slide time and time again. We stayed until about 10:00. We could hear the Wishes fireworks going off. So, we walked back to the room and DW, DS(6), and DD was out on the beach watching the fireworks. We joined them and watched the rest of Wishes.

We gave the kids their bath and watched a little TV. I was fascinated by the Top 7 Attractions show that was on channel 18. I watched that over and over.

DW and the kids were asleep around 11:30 p.m. and I dozed off on my daybed about midnight…..Another Great Disney Day with just a few bumps in the road….

Tomorrow – Day 4 – MGM Studios, Rockin with Steven and Joe, and “will you ask them if they will only do it once?”

You had me fooled - I thought the "big thing" was going to be a turkey leg!
You really should give the Beach or Yacht Club a try next time - you'll love it!
The kids will love the slide! (and don't forget unlimited access to Beaches and Cream...) :goodvibes

We haven't tried the kitchen sink yet but I'm planning on it next trip.
Glad to heat only one DS got ill. You are a great dad.

Why do kids (and the fantastic adult who planned theo whole thing in our case ;) ) get sick at WDW? Is it the water or what?

Glad to see you battled on :wave2:

I know you didn't plan on it - but THANK YOU - for posting your trip in one thread - it makes it sooooo much easier to read!

Your trip sounds great - can't wait for the next installment!

You know, I'm not sure....

We never drank any water that was not bottled water because I think the local water tastes horrible. I am trying to think back, and there isn't anything that happened that was out of the ordinary.

He still insists that it was riding on Splash Mountain that made him sick. He showed no signs of feeling ill at all until the time he came to me and told me his stomach was upset (at 2:00 a.m.). He recovered very quickly....

It might have been a combination of anxiety from the ride, coupled with the heat that did him in.

Nonetheless, it didn't stop him (or the rest of us) from having a magical vacation...

Day 4 - MGM Studios, Rockin with Steven and Joe, and “will you ask them if they will only do it once?”

The wake up call comes about 5:30 (you know…we never got Mickey or Stitch as a wake up call….bummer). I shower, wake up DW so she can shower, then go out on the patio to feed my pet ducks. Within a few days, they would be knocking on the patio door waking ME up…. :rotfl2:

We did not have any concrete plans for breakfast, so after discussion with DW, we decided to go to Kona Café. We wake the kids and get them dressed and ready to go. We walk over to the Great Ceremonial House and go to Kona Café…It’s packed. I tell the hostess that we don’t have a PS, and ask how long the wait would be for a table of 5. She said well, a table just opened up….she could seat us immediately. Cool!! Pixie dust!! :wizard:

DW had the ham and cheese omelet, I had the Tonga Toast, both DS’s had the Mickey Pancakes, and DD mooched off everyone else. I enjoyed the Tonga Toast and DW liked her breakfast as well…..she said she wanted to come back another day so she could try the Macadamia Pineapple pancakes.

After breakfast, we walk down to the bus stop to catch a bus to Disney Studios. The pixie dust followed us, as a Disney MGM bus pulled up just as we arrived!!

I forgot to mention, today was the day that DD’s luggage was to arrive via UPS….I told one of the Cast Members working that I was expecting a package and asked whether they would just deliver it to our room or if I would have to come pick it up. He said I would have to come pick it up. Cool!

So on to MGM……since today was a Saturday, and it was Star Wars Weekends, the park was kind of busy, but still very manageable…

First thing we did was go pick up fastpasses for Rock n Roller Coaster starring Aerosmith. Both DW’s favorite ride and favorite band. :cheer2:

Then we walked over to Tower of Terror. It was a 10 minute stand by line. We got a child swap and DW and DS(9) convinced DS(6) to go on it with them. DD and I went in the shop right there at the exit and looked around while waiting. When they got off, it was my turn to go with the boys. DW said she wanted to look in the shops down the street so we were to meet her under the Sorcerer Mickey hat.

So off we go…on the way in I asked DS(6) if he liked the ride. He said (meekly) “yes”. But once we were inside and down in the boiler room, he asked me “will you ask them to only drop us once?” I said, well, they don’t have any control over how many times it drops. He replied with “well, will you just ask them?” Cute kid….I think I’ll keep him… :cool1:

Well, we make it through without any problem. I think this is my favorite ride. It’s a tossup between this and RnRC.

So we walk down to meet DW under the hat. She’s waiting there with DD going crazy because Minnie Mouse had just walked up to sign autographs. I ask her if she wants to get in line and get a picture taken with her. She says “no”. I say the boys will go with you. “no”. Okay….she loves the characters……as long as they keep their distance. I look at the time and check the time for the Lights, Motor, Action stunt show. We walk over that way and the first show of the day was just beginning. But the window to get another set of fastpasses was open, so I get fastpasses for the next show. I think the time was 3:15. Also, I notice on the fastpasses, that I could immediately get another set of fastpasses.

After getting the fastpasses, we see the truck with the “Mulch, Sweat, and Shears” group. So, we stop and watch. They are really good. They play with the audience and pick a couple of people out to join in. And of course, they pick the goofy guy from Oklahoma to play the bucket. I (unfortunately for the rest of the audience) really get into it…. What fun!! The kids tell me that I was “the best one up there”. Whose kids are these??? Well, again, I guess I will keep them awhile longer…..

So, we decide to walk back over and ride Rock n Roller Coaster. On the way, I stop and get another set of fastpasses for Star Tours. I now have 3 sets of fastpasses for 3 separate attractions. Cool.

We go over to RnRC and DS(6) is not tall enough to ride. We get a child swap and DW and DS(9) ride. DD, DS(6), and I go grab us something to drink and find some shade. We watch the juggler/comedian named Mike Check come out and do his thing. He’s pretty good and entertaining. DW and DS(9) come off the ride and I go catch the limo with DS(9). After we ride, we meet the others outside and decide to go see the Little Mermaid show before watching Lights, Motor, Action. We watch Arial and Friends. DD really enjoys the show.

We have time now to use our fastpasses for Star Tours. DW doesn’t care that much for simulator-type rides, but we get a child swap anyway. She wants me to go first to let her know how “bad” it is. So the boys and I go first. It isn’t too bad. I tell her to go ahead and ride it with the boys. She does. She comes off a little woozy, but okay…..

Now we’re off to see LMA…it is beginning to cloud up again…..(the theme of the week was rain…) We get to our seats just before it starts raining. The show begins and the announcer says that as long as the rain is just light, the show will go on…..

The cars (and drivers) start….what a cool attraction! The stunt drivers are great. The rain begins to get heavier and heavier. The announcer says that they are going to take a break to see if the rain will lighten up to continue…. It slacks up a little and they start back up…. But then the rain begins to come down harder again…. The announcer says that as long as there isn’t lightning in the area they will……CRASH (not the cars….thunder). Sorry folks…..show’s over……lightning in the area…..

People begin filing out…..we kind of sit there while the crowd disperses somewhat….

And of course the rain starts to slack off again now…..no matter…..we plan on coming back later in the week….we’ll see it again…..

It’s getting close to time for our PS at 50’s Prime Time, so we decide to just go early. We are walking along and the rain begins falling again…..we walk faster…..the rain gets heavier……we start running!!! We get to Prime Time just as the skies open up. Whew! Just a little damp are we. The rain is pouring again. We wait about 10 minutes for a table. We were a little early for our PS, and they were trying to fit in some walk-ins as well.

Dinner at the Prime Time was pretty good. We had a good “Uncle”. He got on to DS(9) a couple of times for elbows being on the table. DW and I both ordered the Pot Roast. Both DS’s had the chicken nuggets and DD had mac and cheese. I ordered a vanilla shake (which for some reason DW and DD decided to make it theirs…). The food was really good. Everyone made “Uncle” happy by cleaning their plates. We opted not to order dessert because DW wanted to go over to Hollywood Brown Derby and order a piece of Grapefruit cake and just eat it outside somewhere.

So, after settling the bill, we walk over (the rain has stopped now) to the Brown Derby. DW takes DD to the bathroom for a diaper change… Me and the boys go in and I ask them “Can I just order a dessert to go?” “No.” was the answer. “Really?” I ask. “Really.” So, I can’t just get a dessert to go? Nope. Okay….. :confused3

So, now I have to break the news to DW that she can’t have a piece of grapefruit cake. I’m not sure which drew the worse reaction…..the missing luggage incident or the no grapefruit cake incident……

How ‘bout another ride on Rock n Roller Coaster hun? Will that please you? Yes? Good…..So we head back over to RnRC….The ride is down…Looks like it has been down for awhile….nobody is even in line. So we grab a couple of fastpasses….and decide to head back to the stores…..Wait….people are starting to line back up….hurry! Go get in line….So DW and DS(9) get in line and they start letting people back on. We get another child swap ticket. They go on the ride while DS(6), DD(2) and I watch the people on Tower of Terror. I as DS(6) if he is ready to go back on it. Naw, I’m fine….

Then, I got to thinking….we only had to use 2 fastpasses for RnRC, I can use my other 2 on ToT. So, we run over to ToT and get fastpasses for that. Return time is like 7:30. We go back and meet DW and DS(9) as they come out of RnRC. So, now it’s my turn again. Off we go….

When we get off, we meet the others and go in a few shops before our fastpass return for ToT. DW and DS(9) go on and we get another child swap. While they are riding, I try to talk DS(6) to go on it with me one more time. Won’t do it.

So, after DW and DS(9) come off, I ride with DS(9). This kid has gotten some rides in this week!!

After we get out of the hotel alive, it’s about 8:00 p.m., so we decide to go ahead and find seats for Fantasmic! We go in and the boys want to sit in the very front row. Fine with me. We go down and get our seats. DD says she wants popcorn. So DS(9) and I go get us some popcorn and drinks.

Fantasmic was absolutely fabulous as always….

After the show we file out and find DD’s stroller. There is another showing later, so the crowd to exit isn’t as massive as I have seen it before. We make our way out and over to the bus station to wait on the bus back to the Poly. We wait maybe 10 minutes before the bus arrives.

When we arrive back at the Poly, we do our usual nightly routine….DW starts baths for the kids and I walk to Captain Cook’s for drinks. I remember that I have to get the package at the front desk as well… So, I go fill up the mugs and ask if I could get help carrying the box back to the room. They can’t find anyone around. Oh, well…I’m a strong guy…I can carry it. So there I go back to the room carrying this huge box on my shoulder and carrying 2 mugs full of drinks back to the Tahiti Longhouse (which just happens to be the longhouse the greatest distance away from the Great Ceremonial House…).

Back at the room, everyone is in bed. It was a really long, but very fun day.

Everyone is tired and I tell them that we have a breakfast PS tomorrow morning at 8:30 a.m. at Donald’s Breakfastsaurus. I tell them that we can skip it if they want. They decide they would rather have donuts and sleep just a little longer…..

So another end to another Disney day….

Tomorrow – Day 5 – Animal Kingdom and dinner with the Apes and Relatives (which are which?)

Loving your posts...keep em coming!!

Day 5 – Animal Kingdom, and dinner with the Apes and Relatives (which are which?)

Our plan today is to go to Animal Kingdom and then meet DW’s cousins for dinner at the Rainforest Café. One of DW’s cousins works in the HR department for Disney in the town of Celebration. Hey cuz…..got any openings in the IT department :cool1: ???? They live in Ocoee, Florida.

We had a PS for Donald’s Breakfastsaurus today, but decided to skip it and give the kids a little extra time to sleep. We have done this character breakfast twice in the past, so it was no biggie to skip it.

I had my usual morning routine down – wake up at 5:45 a.m., shower, wake DW, and feed my ducks. Ducks were a little annoyed that I took an extra 5 minutes in the shower this morning. :rotfl:

Everybody up and dressed…..DW wants to go back to Kona Café for breakfast. So, up to the Great Ceremonial House we go.

Hardly anyone in here today. Good. We can eat and probably make it to Animal Kingdom by 9:15 or so. DW has her Macadamia Pineapple Pancakes, I have the Big Kahuna breakfast, DS(9) orders the adult Blueberry pancakes, DS(6) has the Mickey pancakes, and DD is mooching again….

After breakfast we walk over to the bus stop to catch the bus to Animal Kingdom. We are at Animal Kingdom in no time. I head over to get fastpasses for Kilamanjaro Safari and tell the gang I will meet them at the entrance to Dinosaur. When I get back with the fastpasses, the stand-by time for Dinosaur is 5 minutes. DW and the boys go and we get a child swap ticket. DD and I walk down and grab a few bottles of water. It’s already hot here. I look at the time on the fastpasses to see when I can get another set. I already can. So I grab fastpasses for Primeval Whirl. We walk back up and meet DW and the boys. Now, I get to go with the boys. We all love the ride.

When we come off, we walk down and DW and DS(9) go on Primeval Whirl. I tell them that me, DS(6), and DD are going to ride Triceratop Spin since the stand by on that is 5 minutes. We all get off the rides pretty close to the same time. So, we all decide to ride Triceratop Spin again cause DD loved it. After riding it, DS(9) and I ride Primeval Whirl and DW takes DS(6) and DD on Triceratop Spin one more time.

Just after we get off, we see Lucky walking down the street, so we go over and take some pictures. He’s cool. :cool1:

After our time in Dinoland, we decide to head back over toward Kilamanjaro Safari. On the way, we notice that It’s Tough to be a Bug is a walk on….so we do….the kids love it (as do DW and I). We continue our way over to Kilamanjaro Safari. I tell DW that I should run get a fastpass for Kali River Rapids. No, she says….just wait…..(I should have…) :sad2:

We have a very good ride on Kilamanjaro…we walk through the Pangani Trail after getting off the Safari. The Gorillas are kicked back…..

Now, DW lets me go get a fastpass for Kali….

We have time to kill before the fastpass time is ready, so we look to see which show would fit our time. The Festival of the Lion King didn’t work…So we went to the Flights of Wonder. I like this show.

Everyone is getting pretty warm, so we grab us some more water and find some shade. Time for our fastpasses for Kali. We get a child swap and DW goes with the boys. DD and I find another shady spot.

When they come off, DS(6) is SOAKED, DS(9) is pretty wet, but DW is just mildly wet. My time with the boys.

The boys are on the opposite side of the raft than me. They get soaked once again……I get just a little more than damp. I think my shorts got more wet from just sitting down in the existing water than what actually got splashed on me.

We grab another set of fastpasses and decide to take the train out to Conservation Station. It’s getting close to our time to meet family at the Rainforest Café. So, we hop the train back and walk up to the Rainforest Café. We shop around waiting for them to meet us. I tell DW “don’t you think we better look out front?” Sure enough….they were waiting in the front entrance, while we came through the back….

So, we check in and have to wait less than 5 minutes to be seated (it’s right about 5:00 p.m.)

They sit us back by the Gorillas, which kind of frighten DD, but she grunts back at them, so she’s okay….

We have a nice dinner. I had the Cheeseburger, DW had a cheeseburger as well, DS(9) had the Rumble in the Jungle Turkey Wrap (c’mon dude….you CAN order off the child’s menu, you know…), DS(6) had spaghetti, and DD(2) had the pizza. DD put away the pizza!! And then started in on my fries…..(back off girl) :rotfl2:

It was nice to have dinner and talk with DW’s cousins. DW is pretty close to them, even though we don’t get to see each other often. It was kind of cool talking to her cousin that works for Disney. She has worked for Disney for many years. She said they handle HR stuff for both Florida and California. So she stays busy. Again, cuz….any openings in IT….you know my number….

After dinner we walk outside and talk some more. It was beginning to sprinkle, but we wanted to talk a little more….It began to rain……So off to their car they went and we headed toward the busses. And the skies opened up…..it poured again. :umbrella:

We went back to the Poly and decided to let the kids do some swimming tonight. We had plans to go to Downtown Disney and do some shopping, but altered plans to do that tomorrow night. So we got into our bathing suits and went swimming. The pools were much more crowded tonight than it was a couple days ago. DS(9) and I went down the slide a couple of times, but there were so many people in line that a couple of times was enough. DS(6) just couldn’t get up the nerve to go down.

We swam awhile and then went and watched Wishes from the beach. We still had not seen Wishes from inside the park, but had plans to on day 7.

After swimming, I went to Captain Cook’s for some drink refills and back to the room. Kids got their bath and we turned in fairly early.

Another great day……

Tomorrow – Day 6 – MGM, a lost Pal, and Hollywood here we come.

Great day in AK - we loved it too (and I was the one to get SOAKED :umbrella: )

Really enjoyed reading your report ~ Thanx for posting.

Day 6 – MGM, a lost Pal, and Hollywood here we come.

Today, we had plans to go to Disney-MGM Studios first thing, but DW had really wanted to ride Soarin’ one more time and DS(6) wanted to ride Test Track one more time. So, this is what we decided….We would go to Captain Cook’s for an early breakfast, then go to Epcot. Today was an EMH morning for Epcot.

After breakfast at Captain Cook’s, we walked over to the TTC to catch the monorail to Epcot. We just missed the monorail, so we had to wait on the next one. That’s okay….we’ll ask if we can ride up front. Sure can! So, this time, I ride up front with the 2 boys. They get to have their picture taken in the captain’s chair.

We get to Epcot probably about 8:25 and it is already packed. I go over to Test Track to get fastpasses and tell DW that I will meet her and the kids at Soarin’. I grab the fastpasses and high-tail it back to the Land. The line for Soarin’ is already 30 minutes. She wants to ride, so we get a child swap and she and the boys go. Me and DD go do a little shopping. It took them at least 45 minutes to get through. Then me and the boys go.

After Soarin’ it is almost time for our fastpasses for Test Track. So, we go over there. DW and the boys go first (after getting a child swap), and then I go with the boys.

We now decide it is time to get the heck out of Epcot!! So, we leave Epcot and hop a bus over to Disney-MGM. Ahhh…this is much better….hardly crowded at all..

Our main objective today is to see Lights, Motor, Action and ride Rock n Roller Coaster one more time. Then go to Downtown Disney and shop.

I check the schedule for the times of the Lights, Motor, Action shows. We have time to ride the Backlot Tour. We ride that, and we have probably 30 minutes before the Lights, Motor, Action show. So, I decide to run over to get fastpasses for Rock n Roller Coaster. I tell DW I will meet them just outside of the entrance to LMA.

So, I go get the fastpasses, and when I get back, DS(9) is crying. What’s wrong? He said he just realized that he left Pal Mickey in the bathroom when he went just a few minutes ago. I ask which bathroom. The one over by Muppetvision. So we walk over there and see if it is still there. Of course not. So he is heartbroken. :sad1:

So, on to see LMA. No rain (or thunder) this time. We enjoy the show, even though DS(9) is still upset.

After watching the show, we walk over to Rock n Roller coaster. The ride is down. Looks like it’s been down awhile. So we wait. DW says she’s just ready to go. She’s still a little upset about losing Pal Mickey. Well, I see people start gathering around the entrance. Must be ready to let people go back on. So, we go up to the fastpass line and they start letting people back on. We get a child swap. I go with DS(9) first this time. We ride and then DW rides with DS(9).

Okay, we’re done with MGM…..let’s go rest a little bit before going to Downtown Disney. So, we go back to the resort. Me and the boys swim for about an hour and DW and DD take a short nap.

About 5:00 p.m. we go catch a bus to Downtown Disney. We don’t have a PS for dinner anywhere, so we are going to have to wing it. We shop for awhile, buy a few things, but DW can’t find a watch she likes. She likes to get a new watch on each trip. But she just can’t find one that sticks out. She comes away empty handed.

Now, what to do about dinner? We decide to try to get into Planet Hollywood. We walk down there and the line isn’t too long. So, we go in. We wait probably 20 minutes to get a table. We get a pretty good table upstairs that overlooks the downstairs.

I ordered the LA Lasagna, DW had Blackened Mahi Mahi, DS(9) had pizza, DS(6) had spaghetti and meatballs, and DD(2) had spaghetti and meatballs.

Dinner was good. Not overly outstanding, but good. We opted not to have dessert.

We shopped around a little more before deciding to head back to the Poly. We got back to the room just minutes too late to watch the Electrical Light Parade.

We decided to swim for about an hour before heading back to the room for baths and an early turn in.

All-in-all, it was an “alright” day. Could have been better, but again…..say it with me now…..we’re on vacation and we’re at Disney!
