It is jut how the math works out Marsha. For instance if you take 99 & 98 you will get the answer to be 81 for both of them. So as you go through and pick numbers, you can only get so many different final answers. All those final answers that can be obtained have the same symbol. Watch 81, 45 & 0 for instance and you will see they all have the same symbol every single time.

Very cool all the same though!!!

Thanks so much for your response. I got this in an email and have been trying to figure it out ever since. I have one question, tho.....even if there are only a few possible symbols, how does the RIGHT one come up every time?

Lora, I am taking a guess here. Using what Elaine put together and the fact that each time you do it you get a new set of symbols relative to the numbers (it has to refresh to play again), I would say that there is only one symbol correct for each new 'game' for all the possible number answers. Just a thought.

But, but........it's right EVERY TIME. And every time, it's a different symbol. Every time, it matches the one I came up with after doing the calculation. I still haven't found an explanation that answers my question.........

Very cool. I also figured it out before reading the thread (wanted to see in case someone had posted how it works ), but it's still very cool nonetheless!

Actually, I'm very interested in knowing how he got his whole flash window to resize like it does! I'm about to work on a project in Flash, and that would be a perfect feature to include.

10x + y - y - x = 9x.

All of the possible multiples of 9 have the same symbol. Why it gets confusing is each time you play the game, the symbol on the multiples of 9 changes.
