I haven't made any wedding plans yet but wanted to get married sometime in October of 2007. I'm definitely getting married in WDW but was curious about the Intimate Weddings. I was wondering if anyone knew how much add-ons cost approx. I wanted to get more than the twelve pictures in the package, and wanted to stay at a deluxe resort. Also does anyone know if you can pick the design of cake you want for an additional cost or do they not allow that? Thanks for the help!

If you'd send me a PM with your email address, I can send you the information I received from Disney Photo Services for the photography add-ons (its a fairly large PDF file). Of course, you could always go with an outside vendor and get something else. Check out www.yourfairytale.com for lists of vendors. You will most likely have to coordinate things with Disney because while you can ADD to an Intimate Wedding package, you cannot take anything away. So, you would pay extra for the outside vendor, but still have to make arrangements for a Disney Photographer for something.

You can stay at either a moderate or deluxe resort. When you call to make the initial reservations, you can arrange for the resort you want.

As for the cake design, I'm not sure. I would think you could do something "special" as long as you pay for it. I didn't look into that since it's only going to be me and my DF so I wasn't too worried about the cake.

Have you visited www.disneyweddings.com ? You can get more information on the package details there...

Good luck and Happy Planning! :)

You can do just about everything but I suggest you make it known up front what you want. Different planners will allow you to do different things, so if one tells you no and you know someone else has done what you want, just keep asking. After reading as many posts as I have, I have found that sometimes you just have to tell your planner how it is going to be. I didn't have any problems with my requests, but I know some people have had some problems when going outside of the "package". Good luck

You can also book your wedding as an intimate add-on. With an add-on you book your room yourself (minium of 4 nights, but at ANY hotel on property, even the values or dvc) then call the FTW department and book the wedding I wanna say it's only $2350 this way but my mind isn't pulling out numbers right today so I'm sure someone will correct me on the exact number. But with this deal you can get your room on what ever discount you can find and a lot of times save money. We're currently saving by using a AAA discount, and hoping for an AP discount as it gets closer.

We are having our intimate in December. I didn't like the Disney Photo options so I booked Randy Chapman on my own, Disney offers you a Honeymoon shoot in exchange for them not shooting the wedding. Randy is giving me all of my pics on a high resolution cd so I can print them all myself without having to go back to him for prints later a HUGE savings, and I'm not stuck with just 12 that I don't even get to pick.

As for the cake the old policy was if you are willing to pay more you can pretty much do as you pleased to it. Apparently this has changed. I wanted the Mickey's Delight cake (mickey heads stamped on fondant) I was told that there is NO way to change the intimate cake anymore, that yes it had been done some in the past but because of Disney pushing for custom weddings this is no longer allowed. What my wonderful EM did suggest was that we could order a 'special occasion' cake from the Grand to be deliver to our dinner, what we found out though was we could get the cake directly from the Yacht club's bakery and saved the delivery fee (yay). This is actually working out better for us because we had heard prices of about $500 to upgrade the cakes in the past and to have one at the dinner is only about $200 MAJOR discount. So we're having 2 cakes the one I don't like that's free and then the one I love at dinner. Because we're having Randy as our photographer I'll still have pics of us cutting the 'true' cake and this way i get twice the cake flavors so it's deffinatly a win win situation all around. Needless to say all of our guests and probably anyone standing too close to us will go home with cake :rotfl:

I hope this helps, good luck with your planning.

Melissa
