Intimate Wedding Help, Please!

Hello! This is my first post and I'm so glad to have found this site!

My fiancee and I have recently decided on a Disney World wedding (either of us have ever been!). And I have been doing a lot of research online but I am confused about the pricing of the Intimate Wedding package.

The Disney Wedding website says that the Intimate packages (the ones not in the wedding pavilion) start at $2450, but does not include accomodations and tickets and etc. I've also read on a lot of sites that a four-day stay with tickets and etc. plus the Intimate Package costs start at $3500.

We plan to get married in January 2007 (off-peak season) and was wondering if somewhere around $3500-4500 including accomodations is realistic.

Also, is the officiant's fee included as part of the package?? The site just says that they can provide a list...

Can anyone shed any light? Thanks!

First...WELCOME to the DIS!!! This place is great and you will get lots of information and help!

When my now DH and I decided on a Disney wedding...neither of us had ever been before either! It was SOOOOO MAGICAL!!

Things have changed at Disney (again). If you have seen the "Unofficial Site" (www.fairytaleweddings.com) I don't think that site has been updated for awhile. The Disney weddings website is as current as it can be.

The Intimate Wedding Package at Disney changed for 2006 weddings (and they might change again for 2007, so keep in touch with Disney) and it no longer includes accommodations and park tickets.

Personally, I think it works out about the same as before. Especially considering by not including the rooms, you can now take advantage of any discounts you can find (through a travel agent or AAA or anything) as well as staying at ANY Disney owned and operated (leaves out Swan, Dolphin, and Shades of Green) resort INCLUDING the values! You still have to stay at least 4 nights though.

So...to answer your question:

Yes, I think it's do-able. Even if you use Disney's latest package (7 nights at a value resort, and tickets for less than $1500). If you decide to stay at a moderate or delux resort, the costs will go up.

We had the "old" package, where everything was included. We stayed at the Boardwalk and EVERYTHING including clothes, air fare, souvenirs, food, and kenneling our dogs was about $7000.

The officiant fee is no longer included...and I think for an intimate they're running about $100.

Again, Congratulations! I am sure your wedding will be all you imagine it to be!!

While the wedding packages for an Intimate do start at $2450, this is only for the outdoor locations - SeaBreeze Pointe, Sunset Pointe, Sunset Terrace, and the Yacht Club Gazebo. If you would like the Wedding Pavilion, the pice is $3350. This does not include the officiant, or the resort stay. Those must be booked on your own, as will cosmetology, if you choose to have that.

The resorts vary in price - values start at around $99 a night, then you move into the $130 a night moderates, then the deluxes. Depending on which resort you pick, I think you can stay well under budget of $3500 - 4500.

We are getting married at the Wedding Pavilion in December of 06, and the rules have changed a little for the WP in 07. I have been told that one has to wait until 8 months out to actually book the space and date. But, if you are looking toward an outdoor location, then you can book that exactly one year out.... (Someone correct me if I am wrong... ).

The best place to look online is www.disneyweddings.com , as they will have the best information, as well as show you all of the items included in the package.

Wow - that's great. Definitely more info than I was expecting! Thank you.

The $3500 - $4500 is my "official" fee to Disney budget and does not include air, outfits and etc. But now armed with all this info, I think I will be able to stay within that price range.
