did anyone have a wedding at disney just the bride and groom. I called today to see if there was any availability in October and they will have someone call me back tomorrow or wed. Just curious how it went and was it nice? did you add any extras?

any help will be great.

we are going for 7 nights in oct/nov anyway so we meet the 4 night stay requirement.
:bride:

If you can find Summer's pj and tr, she had an escape wedding with just her, her husband and her mother. I can't think of anyone else off the top of my head who didn't have any guests. BUT... I think it's a great idea. I would have loved to not invite anyone.

i had one where it was just me, DH, my mom & her exhusband & it was AWESOME!!!!!

granted mine was 10yrs ago, but if no one can answer your questions, i can do my best to help!!;)

It was just my DH and me for our wedding three years ago.

It was probably the most magical, romantic day of our lives! Just being together at Disney to say our vows was such a dream come true!

The only extras I added were to have an extra bottle of the champagne (we ended up saving it for our first anniversary). And I pre-ordered all the proofs from our package photography.

We called in late April for a September wedding so you should have plenty of time to get things in order!

Our ceremony was at Sea Breeze Point and I chose all Disney songs for the violinist to play.

Our officiant was Rev. Kevin Knox and he allowed us to customize our vows for us (using samples he sent). We loved Rev. Knox and highly recommend him but other officiants will let you customize things a bit too!

We wanted a very casual wedding and asked Rev. Kevin not to wear his robes or a jacket...he was pleased to accommodate us because it was so hot that day!

My coordinator held my bouquet during our ceremony and she also held my cell phone so my mom could hear from Ohio. :teeth: Mom cried, of course. It was all DH and I could do NOT to cry!

After the ceremony we wandered around MGM (now DHS) for a couple of hours before getting ready to have our wedding dinner at the California Grill. We got a table right near the window so we had excellent seats to watch Wishes that night.

It was easily the best day of my life (even if my feet hurt by the end of the night).

If you are thinking about doing this, don't hesitate!!! You will not regret it at all!! If you have any other questions, just let me know!

hiwaygal do you have any pics we can see please? I'd love to see them!

Also, how did you do things like getting ready, did DH help you into dress, or did you manage this yourself so he could see you all ready!

After the ceremony did you change out of wedding attire?

Thanks in advance!

I'll have all my pics in a few weeks (what I have loaded now is the "low-res" stuff and only a few of those). At that time I'll be more than happy to send a link to you via PM.

Getting ready...well, DH and I had already lived together for almost three years so it wasn't like I was worried about him seeing me before the ceremony. I also didn't wear a great big poofy gown, I had a simple white cotton/gauze sundress. He wore docker style pants and a white linen shirt. We basically got ready together. Then went downstairs to the lobby to meet our coordinator. She pinned his boutonierre on him while I ooohed and aaaahed over my bouquet.

You could get a room at one of the value resorts for one night so your DH2B doesn't see you before hand.

Our ceremony started at 11am and we were done by about 12:30 or so. And yes, we changed out of our clothes to go to MGM/DHS. It was really warm that day so we didn't want to be uncomfortable. We spent a few hours at MGM then came back to the Boardwalk (where we were staying) and changed back into our wedding clothes for our dinner at California Grill.

Immediately after our ceremony we took the biggest portion of our cake (that thing was WAAAAAAAAY too big for the two of us) up to the Concierge lounge at the Boardwalk. We kinda "forced" the CM's to share it with us. They told us they weren't allowed to, but we told them we wanted to have someone eat wedding cake with us! They were ultimately happy to oblige! :teeth:

We wanted to leave the rest of the cake for the other concierge guests but we weren't allowed to do that either...so we told the CM's to take it to their break room and enjoy! (We did manage to keep the top layer for ourselves). The next day, the staff at BWI had put a Mickey & Minnie wedding photo frame in our room. It was a nice bit of pixie dust.

Hi there  It's just going to be the two of us for our wedding! ( 7 weeks today :woohoo: ) We have added lots of extras, much to the bank managers dismay  We want to have the same sort of fun filled spoilt day that everyone gets, it shouldnt matter how many guests you do or don't have - the most important bits are you and your partner and then add whatever will make you smile :goodvibes In our case, theres quite a few things :rotfl: Erm ... Stitch is going to be at the cake cutting, we're having a meal on the Grand 1 yacht and finishing the day with a dessert party for just the two of us in the Japan section of epcot :cloud9:

I must admit that I am a bit worried about who will help fasten up my dress, but I'm hopeing there will be someone around to do it otherwise I guess Randy or Stan might be able to help - or if that fails, I'll start knocking on hotel room doors :lmao: We've booked a villa at the wilderness lodge for the wedding part of our stay, so I've banned DF to stay in one section and me in the other - then we will do our 'first look' on the boat dock (hopefully!!) as that is where he proposed

thank you all for all your stories, if anyone has pics i would love to see them. I want it to be an intimate wedding, but my fiance will probably want our family there and then its just soo many people and sooo much stress!!

thanks again to all that replied, its great that no matter what people did , Everyone had a great Disney wedding

have a magical evening :-)

Randy's got you covered !! My daughter was having troubles lacing mine up so Randy helped her out !!! He also helped DH with his cuff links. He is a one-man wedding dude !

We got married in January, and it was only me, DH and our 16 year old dd. We were married at Sunset Pointe and it was FABULOUS! I really enjoyed not having to worry about a bunch of people.

The wind was blowing so hard, and it was cold.. but it was beautiful!

It was so cold that I had to wear a jacket. The violin player gave our dd his jacket to wear.

These stories are so sweet. dmslush, your dd is beautiful! I love the pics! :goodvibes

Aww I think it is so sweet to have it just be the 2 of you :) We had an escape but had 12 guests, just parents and siblings. Escape wedding are so nice you will love it and Disney does an amazing job!

I really hope you get the date that you want!!!! What location did you pick?

It was just me and my DH and we got married last May at the Yacht Club. I wouldn't change it for the world. :lovestruc

I'm posting a couple more pics because, hey, who doesn't want to show more of their wedding pics! plus i'm all for getting married just the two of you...

this was one of my favorite moments... the cake was fantastic and it was fun to just sit and talk and have the violinist play just for us. he asked us what we wanted him to play and i kept shouting out random disney songs and he kept playing them!

my wedding coordinator helped me walk down the "boardwalk". she warned me that my heels might fall into the planks so to be careful. then hers did!

I always thought that I would be so stressed on my wedding day, but getting married the way that we did was so stress free and was one of the most fantastic days of my life.

First of all congrats on your upcoming wedding!!

My husband and I were married at the Polynesian back in 2001. It was the most amazing day ever, and I wouldn't change it for anything. We had 7 guests and were married by Rev. Jack Day. ((Sweetest man ever))

Afterwards we went to the Luau for our "Reception dinner" ~~ It was the best day of my life. You won't regret a Intimate wedding.

Here's some photos of mine. Sorry they're not the best quality I had to scan them.

Good luck, on whatever you decide.

Thank you for making this thread. My DBF and I are planning to elope to Disney sometime next year hopefully whenever we get the money together, but it is only going to be the two of us. I was concerned with it just being the two of us. But then I started to think about it and after reading about you guys, I am so excited for it just to be the two of us! We were hoping to do the ceremony at Sunset Pointe, and then have dinner in our wedding attire at the California Grill and watch the fireworks out on the deck, we were hoping that our photographer could be there for pics? Is this possible? Thanks guys!
