Hi all!
I've been lurking here for a while getting ready to plan my DFTW. DF and I have booked our wedding for 12/14/07. We pushed it up a year after learning of the upcoming intimate price increase. We're sorta rushing to get our ideas together now!

We are looking for a location for our "post-wedding dinner." We are considering Yachtsman Steakhouse and the 2 California Grill private rooms (Napa or Sonoma-- can't quite decide). I know there is quite a debate and a fair amount of uncertainty with booking intimate dinners. Has anyone here booked an intimate dinner lately?

I don't want to get into a situation where we book something and in October we find out that's not going to happen. Right now I am really pulling for the Napa Room. Any help will be greatly appreciated! :)

Just remember that with the CG private rooms there is going to be a minimum. Here's the section from www.mouseweddings.com:

The Napa Room faces the Magic Kingdom and has an excellent view of the fireworks. It seats up to 50 people. There is a minimum expenditure requirement of $3000, plus 6.5% tax and 20% gratuity.

The Sonoma Room faces Bay Lake and seats up to 40 people. There is a minimum expenditure requirement of $2000, plus 6.5% tax and 20% gratuity.

We recently made reservations at Citricos for 20 people. I have been in communication with Manuel Brack and he's been wonderful to work with. He said for 20 or more they prefer that you order off the banquet menus. If you have 12 or less, Citricos Chef Domain is an option for you, which is nice because it's private (if you're looking for more privacy). The Chef's Domain minimum is $650. I wish we could've done this, but we definitely exceed the 12 person limit.

Sorry! I don't really have info on the Yachtsman but I know a few other girls on her dined there after their intimate ceremonies :goodvibes

We had our intimate at YSH. Our EM hooked us up the the manager there and we planned the entire menu and details via email. Dinner was for 11 of us and they sat us in the back of the restaurant at 5:30 pm. You need to book a big party early or late so they can accomodate you. We had custom menu's which we eliminated a few items and had all the prices removed so our guests could order whatever they wanted. Our menus had the date and our names on them and the table was decorated with our centerpiece and favors.

The service and food was fantastic, We were there about 2 1/2 hours and were never rushed.

Thank you for the information! We were able to get in touch with YSH and get some information. I was told the maximum capacity for the "private" alcove is 20. I've looked into the other locations as well. Chef's Domain looks fantastic, but we will definitely be a maxed out Intimate so that's too small for us. We will have a few children in our party so that ruled out V&A.

We received information about the Sonoma Room @ CG from DFTW. It is available for our date and I think it will be perfect for us. From what I understand, we will have access to the back observation deck @ CG. Any idea what the view is like from there? We should have 20 in our group so the room might feel a bit big for us, but I will be thrilled to watch Wishes and Illuminations on the same night! Our date is a MVMCP night so regular Wishes *should* be at 6pm. Then our Illuminations dessert party will be at 9pm. Hopefully this will all work out! :goodvibes

I had my dinner at Raglan Road in Downtown Disney so I'm no help to you but I just had to say hello since you are a fellow Jacksonvillian!

I'm having a rehearsal dinner at YSH and the reception dinner at Narcoossee's. I only have 10 guests so that made it much easier. But both places are doing custom menus and seem great to work with. My wedding is June 1st and i'm nervous because it seems as though all of the planning is already done.
