DH2B and I are the two most indecisive people in the world (which is how we know we are made for eachother, and at least we can decide on that!). After looking at our budget it seems that we will have enough for a custom wedding in January of '07 if we choose. Our guest count will probably be about the same, so really we would just be having the custom wedding for an illuminations party that I can wear my dress to. Is that the only big perk I'd have? Really we would be fine with not having a fancy reception, heck, by now we just want to get married. I do have my heart set on a certain cake, which would be a benefit too.

Also, we really would only be able to spend the minimum of 10,000. Is this at all possibly? We added on about 4,000 to that for we're not really sure what hidden fees or what tax will add on, and we'd still have Stan and Randy for photo and video. Can we really do much with 14 grand?

Thanks,
Ashley and Ben

i think you will be alright with 14 grand. we met the minimum when we planned our wedding with no problem. at the time, the minimum for a custom wedding was $7,500. a custom wedding is good to have if you have certain things in mind to make your wedding even more magical. when you say you can wear your dress to the illuminations party, do you mean your wedding dress? as far as i know, brides are not allowed in the parks during park hours in their bridal attire. the only times they are allowed in the parks in their wedding attire is for a photo shoot.

hey, if you don't really want a fancy reception, why not look into having your reception at the Atlantic Dance Hall on the Boardwalk. it's a great location, doesn't need decorations, a great place for a reception, and they have a great list of menus for a buffet dinner. if you need any more help with that, i'd be glad to help.

Custom brides can wear their dresses into Epcot for their receptions or dessert parties, from what I've read. At least I think so. :confused3

I do love the idea of the Atlantic Dance Hall, especially since we would save on decorations. We'll only have around 25 guests at the most, and I am open to almost any venue.

We had an intimate wedding last week and it was awesome. We also had a dessert party and believe me we had a morning wedding followed by the cake cutting reception and lunch and by the time I got back to my room I wanted to get out of the dress. To the dessert party I bought a nice comfortable outfit to wear and I wore my bridal mickey ears and I also had my ribbon bouguet from my shower. Everyone was comfortable and we enjoyed the dessert party alot. I did see though on two nights brides having dessert parties with their gowns on. It is all a matter of preference. Whatever you decide it will be magical.
