Intimate Brides- What cake filling flavors did you choose? Not having tried these cakes I would like to get a cake that tastes good.... what were your combinations and feelings toward the cake you chose. Hopefully you will help me choose my cake and filling flavor before the date that I have to turn my worksheet in.

Thanks in advance :cake:

I'm splurging ona Custom cake. It really wasn't THAT much more to upgrade!
We're doing chocolate cake with chocolate mousse and fresh raspberries for the bottom layer, and chocolate cake with peanut butter cup icing for the top layer! MMMMMMM....

I'll let you know how it tastes!!!

We are doing marble cake with chocolate mousse. We chose this cause DF likes yellow cake, and I LOVE chocolate cake, our families were pretty spilt as well, so it is best of both worlds for us and our guests! :goodvibes

we had marble cake with buttercream filling
it was yummmmmmmmy!

sounds good- im interested to hear about what others have already ate and enjoyed (or disliked for that matter). I want to make sure the cake is good.. :) I wanna get all im paying for here.

We had marble cake with raspberry mousse. It was fantastic!! The best cake we have ever had! Our guests agreed! We still talk about how good it was and we had the rest of the cake eaten in a couple days. It was so yummy!! It was the most beautiful and best tasting cake I've ever had!! :goodvibes

We had a chocolate cake with amaretto mousse filling...easily the BEST cake I have ever eaten! :cloud9:

I can't remember the cake (can you believe it?) But I do remember that it was THE BEST CAKE I have ever eaten. :teeth:

MMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmm! Yum! peanut butter cups! Nice choices! :thumbsup2

I'm having apple spice cupcakes with cream cheese frosting, and carrot cake cupcakes also with cream cheese frosting. :)

I can't remember anyone ever saying their cake wasn't good, so I'd probably say go with what your favourite cake is.

We're having Almond with Amaretto Mousse, 'cos that's my favourite flavour and as there's likely to be no more than 4 of us, I'll probably end up eating most of it!

It's rather strange for us to have a choice as in England, the traditional wedding cake is a rich fruit cake altho' I think more and more couples are going for something different.

I'm sure you'll love it whatever you choose.

We had chocolate cake with peanut butter mousse filling and it was absolutely awesome!!!!

We had the same flavors - it was incredible - one of the best cakes I've ever eaten! Our guests still talk about how good it was too! We upgraded to a custom design and I cannot wait to have the top layer on our first anniversary :teeth:

Oh...you're so lucky to get to have the top layer on your anniversary! I would love to taste that cake again!! Our top layer got ruined and melted. It wasn't packed well and didn't have a safe journey back to the Resort...haha! :rotfl: We did enjoy eating the mush that was left at the bottom of the box. It was still great and yummy even at that point! :goodvibes

We are also upgrading to a custom cake. The bottom layer is white cake with bavarian cream and fresh raspberries, the middle is marble cake with raspberry mousse, and the top layer is white cake with white chocolate mousse.

We were able to taste the layers when we went down over the weekend.... :teeth: They were all so yummy!!!

Wow I am hungry for some cake now.. I am planning to have red velvet.. That has been my all time fav.

Yeah, I am really looking forward to that cake again :teeth: Our EM boxed up the top and the WL front desk kept it in the freezer for us, then MIL & FIL put it in a cooler with ice and drove it back and kept it in their freezer until we got home from our honeymoon.

We actually had the opposite problem, our custom cake was way too big for 10 people

and I should have had the server cut up the bottom layer and box it separately so each guest could take some back to their resort, but I didn't, and I didn't refrigerate it. So after we had a couple more pieces that night, by the morning it was ruined - it did not stand up well to non-refrigeration :sad2: So, it died a horrible death. There was enough of the bottom layer left to feed an army. Oh well . . . I do still have the top and I'm happy about that! I think I might splurge on a bottle of the Disney champagne next time we're over there and have that with the cake on our anniversary.

So see? This is why I come here! Where else can I find others that will obsess with me over everything from location sites to cake flavors?!?

:grouphug:

Ya'll are great!

We are having an intimate wedding in December and I go back and forth between "it'll never get here, I can't wait" and "it's getting here too fast! I'll never be ready!" Anyone else relate?

I am looking for a fleur de lis designed cake (custom upgrade) but my WC said I needed to find a picture first--so--sigh---anyone have any pics of a fleur de lis cake? Now if I could get the bakery folks at Disney to do a kind of bananas foster flavored filling...

Hey, it's a New Orleans thing.

very simple and elegant

I can *so* relate!! I've got 11 days until the wedding  , and 8 days until we leave :cheer2: , and every time I think I'm all set and ready to go, something else comes up! :lmao:

I found some fleur de lis cakes :)
subtle fleur de lis

this is a pretty one, bottom of the page

DisneyBride!

11 days! CONGRATULATIONS! Wooohooooooo....how excited are you? How many lists do you have going? I am three months out, and I have three going. Three (3) lists. For an intimate wedding. I have lists about the lists.

I am making myself crazy. No joke. I know--it's silly to obsess about details, but that is how I am--too late to change now.

Thank you SO much for the great pictures--that was so very kind of you! I like the last one best I think. If I can get them to do that in a gold color, maybe with a fondant ribbon it would be fabulous for us. I don't know how Mickie and Minnie will look perched on top of all that, but maybe they will think they are back in Paris?
