I want a dinner afterwards. Where are you going and why? I need help. SO MANY TO CHOOSE From!!!!!!! :confused3 :scared:  :scared1:

we're still not sure yet but here's my few cents.
depends on your party size and type of dinner you want.
formal reception dinner or just a casual dinner.
inside or outside theme parks.
if it's a small party and you just want a casual dinner that takes ADR, reserve it 180 days out immediately.
if you haven't, seek restaurant forum for guidance on choices...yes..IT'S A LOT to choose from...

We are having a Intimate Wedding in October 06 and as we only have a small party (max 8 including ourselves) we are going to Victoria and Albert's.

There will be 10 of us total and we are having dinner at Palio's at the Swan and Dolphin after. It is Italian (my favourite) and is casually elegant, just like our wedding!

We are having ours at the Yachtsman Steakhouse. The manager sent us menus that we are customizing for our party. He has been great to work with so far.

Laura :bride:

We are probably going to have it at the Yachtsman Steakhouse as well. There will be about 20 of us.

We choose Yachtsman because we are going to get married at Sea Breeze Point and then have an Illuminations dessert party so they are all in the same area.

Because of the short distance, do you still have to have a charter bus? Are they letting you cut your cake there?

I am not sure about the cake cutting. When my EM sent me the intimate wedding contract, it stated that we had to charter a bus for the Illuminations party. I believe that all intimate brides have to do this now.

Hi,

We've got 17 including B&G at our Intimate wedding. We've decided to head across to Gaylord Palms hotel as Mum preferred us to have private dining. We had considered Shula's but the atrium in Gaylord Palms swung it for us. It's such an amazing resort. We are having a 3 course meal with hosted bar and will then probably chill out in Auggie's Piano bar.
To make it even more special our meal is going to be hosted within the wedding gazebo. The sales staff have been fantastic.

After our vow renewal, our group of 13 will be going to 1900 Park Fare for Cinderella's Gala Feast.

We are getting married at 11:00 at the Swan in October. We planned to have a small cake cutting with appetizers afterwards and then meeting back that evening for dinner. There will be about 35 to 40 people all together. Does anyone know if they will seat a group that big at O'hana's or 1900 Park Fare? We thought since these two restaurants were buffets, we could save a little money and spend it on other things in the wedding.

probably not closely together but give ADR and ask. and just ask a general question about which resort buffets can group together 40 people. if they allow it..book it 180days out on the dot.
off topic, are you sure about O'hana's? majority of the reviews are negatives now since they changed their menu...

I believe the luau changed, but O'hana is still skewered meats (pork, steak, & turkey) with dipping sauces (all you can eat) plus different side dishes. Dessert is fresh pineapple with caramel dipping sauce. I highly recommend O'Hana and they can accommodate large groups. The windows face the seven seas lagoon and the MK, so if you time the dinner later, you can see Wishes. There is a big fire pit in the middle of the so you watch the food being prepared. They also have a guy walking around telling jokes and singing Polyn. songs, as well as hola hooping and coconut races for the little ones. They were so cute to watch!! Sorry so long, but you can guess where my rehearsal is going to be ;)

We are having dinner at V&As. Our rehearsal dinner is at Ohanas. I am so excited b/c I have never eaten at either restaurant. I think our reception dinner will be a real treat for everyone. We had initially planned to rent a private room at Fulton's, but the minimum for food and beverage was the same cost as V&As.

Actually, O'hana did change some of it's menu. We were HUGE O'hana fans and were worried about the new menu. But, we were pleasantly surprised. The shrimp is no longer skewered, but is served with the appetizers. There are some AWESOME new potatoes too. Also, the dessert is no longer the fresh pineapple with caramel, but it is now a yummy bread pudding-type dessert with vanilla ice cream.

I was looking at O'hana's just because it was a buffett. I had heard good things about them prior to the menu change, but not a whole lot since. My fiance and I are going to try a couple different places on our next visit. We are looking at O'hana's, 1900 Park Fare (we have quite a few guests with kids 4 and under and thought they would enjoy the characters), Palio's and Portabello's. Anyone have any positive or negative experiences at these restaurants with large groups?

All the negative comments i have heared about O'hanas is related to the Luau dinner show - not the normal Ohanas!
