Interview Today.

This afternoon I have an interview with Worlds of Fun (an amusement park owned by Cedar Fair.) It would be for a job for the rest of the summer, and weekends/holidays through Halloween. I miss working in a theme park and my boyfriend is a supervisor there for one of the coasters.

When I got my bachelor's they actually offered me a management position, but it's not a year round park so I didn't take the job. I'm not too worried about my chances of getting in, they hire a lot of teenagers and consequently have a fairly high turnover rate. I'm still nervous though. It would be nice to have a second job just to make things a little more comfortable, and I miss working attractions. (I emphatically said no to entertainment there after seeing their characters.) Hopefully by the end of today I will be hired!

I got the job and even had my orientation today! I start my area training on one of the coasters on Sunday. I'm so excited. While I absolutely loved Fantasyland, it will be nice to work a more "challenging" ride.

The reason I said no way to entertainment is that I have seen their performers in action. They do not have nearly the same standards as Disney. I was also used to performing in parades and shows and this park does not have any (for the characters. They do have a couple of musical reviews, but those are equity). As an example, I looked over one day and it was very obvious that Snoopy was talking to his handler, and very obvious that he was looking out of his neck instead of his eyes. It's just not the same.
