What's your favourite "backstage" tour and why?

have not gotten a chance to any but the Segway Tour :guilty:

what are your plans this weekend ?

This weekend is a busy one...Have to make dinner (look out kitchen, I am not the best cook in the world) for my other half cause its his B'day.
Going to go to Waterfest (its a Volkswagon car show thing) out here in Jersey, then hangin with the nieghbors till the weekend is done.

What is your favorite Author?

Adam

John Crowley, author of Little, Big, Aegypt, and Engine Summer is my all-time favorite. A strange and fantastical perspective combined with incredibly rich prose make reading his books completely fulfilling for me.

(Seems to me that some of these questions would make great threads in and of themselves...)

What's the oldest movie you really love?

I dont know if you call it love... but two movies that stuck in my mind since I was a child and had seen it almost every halloween are "Fantasm" and "Poltergiest" and AmittyVille in 1979... the 1st movie I saw when we move back to the Philippine... crazy my mom snuck me in and I was 8 then... and back then it was "For Adults Only" type of movie! Ok..Ok..Ok.. stop with your math!!! I know.. I know .. am old :):):):):)

What is your best dish or favorite dish to serve your significant other when you know you are wrong or got him/her mad ???? :):):):):)

:rotfl: DH's all time fave comfort food ... and it takes practically ALL day to make it. Although I have found a pretty slick short-cut -- you can wilt the big cabbage leaves in the microwave w/o having to take them off the cabbage first.

I totally agree with Mr. V -- many of these response could be GREAT threads in and of themselves.

Fer my next Q, I'd like to quote MickeyDee " What are your all time favorite 5 songs?" I think this question may have gotten over-looked a couple posts back and it is a TOTALLY great question. (Mine would be: Heard It Through The Grapevine, Amazing Grace, Happy Birthday to Me -- in context, Anything by Clifton Chenier(does that count?). Oye Como Va.)
Have a Great day, Everybody! :wave2:

Hmmm...I would have to say, in no particular order:

Bohememian Rhapsody
I'm Tired ( I LOVE Madeliene Kahn!)
Dream Weaver
Paradise <by the dashboard light>
and the Mozart aria "Et Incarntus Est" out the C-minor Mass

And now...

How did you meet your other half?

:maleficen :figment:

I get asked this all the time, because we've been together for just shy of 11 years.

We met two weeks before our first real conversation when we were both out with different groups of friends at Sidetrack bar in Chicago. I saw my friend Andy from the Windy City Gay Chorus with a group of cute guys near the back bar. I was there with some other Chorus friends, so we all went over to say hi to Andy and his group. Andy explained that the guys he was with were in a musical together called "The Ballad of Little Mikey." My future husband was one of the seven or eight other cast members present, so I was introduced to him, but frankly, I'm bad with names when I'm first introduced to a group of people, so other than Andy, all of the guy's names didn't stick in my brain. We all went our separate ways and while I thought the guys were nice, I truly didn't think about maintaining any kind of friendship, let alone consider a relationship with any of them.

Then, for the next two weeks, I noticed this guy who I was seeing EVERYWHERE I went. I'd be at the gym, and there was this cute guy who was already there doing his workout. I'd be walking to the train, get on, sit down, and there was the same guy I'd seen at the gym. I was selling shoes at Marshall Field's, and the SAME GUY came in to buy a pair of sneakers that we'd advertised, but didn't have in stock. Oddly enough, none of this registered with me that much, I just saw it as a coincidence.

Then, on August 13, 1995, I was at a street fair called North Halsted Street Market Days, one of the biggest summer festivals in Chicago. I was scheduled to work at the Windy City Gay Chorus' booth later in the day, so I went early to enjoy the festival, which was tough because it was extremely hot that day. I was there by myself, and was walking up the street when I saw this guy taking his shirt off... as I was enjoying this lovely scene, when his shirt came over his head and he caught me looking!!! I blushed and smiled, as did he, and we did that thing were you walk away, wait a beat, then turn back to see if the other person is looking back, too... and he was! But, I was still embarassed that he caught me looking, so I went on to the booth to do my shift.

About an hour later, I was working the Chorus booth, when my guy walked by and caught my eye. He came over and said "You're everywhere I've been for the last two weeks... who are you?" So we started talking, exchanged names, went out for dinner, and that night I knew that Page and I were meant to be together.

We dated for three years before our commitment ceremony on September 5, 1998, and I can't imagine my life without him in it!

Long answer, I know, but you can't take chance meetings too lightly! You never know if your future partner has come into your life if you don't pay attention.

On to the next question:
What's the last great book you read, and why should I read it, too?

The last book I read that I had the uncontrollable urge to give to complete strangers, urging them to just read the first paragraph, was:

Night of the Avenging Blowfish, by John Welter.

You should read this if you want to give your significant other a good reason to kick you out of bed. This is based on careful analysis using Christopher Moore spousal ejection meter, which rates a book's quality based on how many times your partner has to kick you out of bed for laughing too hard while reading it.

It's hard to find a genuinely smart, funny book with engaging characters (outside of Christopher Moore himself, of course), but this one was thoroughly amusing. As well as charmingly romantic.

Next question...

You can invite five Disney characters to dinner. Which ones do you invite? Why?

- Winnie the Pooh ~ since he was my 1st offical BF from 1987 ( to present :) )

- Belle ~ I have a huge crush on her

- Stitch ~ coz he always gives me good results with my Photo with him

- Rabbit ~ Coz I have not seen Him LIVE yet

- Snow White ~ I have about 3 albums saved with me and her since 1975

next question:

if you are in a relationship.. is it OK that your partner and his/her ex's are still friends and still hang out ?

There's a new one on this post! :)

My answer would be to ask whether it was ok with you and your partner? Each relationship is different. I'll admit to feeling a bit of the jealousy bug when my husband talked/talks with his ex. I find that to be just a natural reaction. The question is, do I react and act, or do I trust him to be honest with me. There are many in open relationships and others in more traditional ones, like my own. Personally, as long as there is no under the table negotiation, why should I worry?

Ultimately it's honesty and comfort with each other that makes is ok or not.

I hope that wasn't a cop-out answer...but it's how we feel anyway. Life is too short to worry about trust.

Did anyone meet/have a first date/or honeymoon at Disney? (Apparently they won't let us marry...I didn't know that, but I found it on another post. But you can add a commitment ceremony to that list as well if you'd like).

(Hey, friend(s), pardon my interruption of this great thread, but the Big Meet is at WDW and the details about it are in one of the sticky threads - still lots of time for everyone to make plans; it's not until 2007 AND I used to live in the city - for 17 years - and now I'm out in what used to be cow country but is fast resembling asphalt.)

OK, now back to your regularly scheduled programming.

I believe this was the latest question to be answered, but I could be wrong. :confused3

I can't say I've taken many holiday trips (other than to Boise to be with the whole fam damily! :grouphug: The most recent one has been the most enjoyable. My parents took myself, my partner, my two brothers and their wives, and my nephew to Kauai this past Christmas and it was wonderful. Why? Well, it's Hawaii! :cool1: And, it was the first big trip my partner and I had been on with my family (again, other than a quick weekend in Boise!).

Ok, I don't remember all of the questions previously posted, so I apologize if I repeat, but if you could change any one decision you've made in your life, what would it be and why? ( I know... deep!!!)

I don't really have regrets. There are things you wish you wouldn't have said, but no major decisions that I would change....minor things like that might have a major change later on down the road-- we all saw "It's a Wonderful Life"

Have you met the love of your life? (Do you even believe there is such a person)

I've been with the "love of my life" for 23 years and I look foward to at least 30 more years together.

Was our original meeting under the most romantic of circumstances? Hardly. I won't go into the gory details, but it wasn't pretty and it should never have worked.

Do I even pretend to understand how her mind works, let alone experience the sort of simulataneous "mind meld" that makes you all atingle? Not for one moment. She is an alien to me.

Do we complete each other's thoughts? Only about when dinner might be.

But is she the love of my life? You bet.

Because she was with me when we were finally able to adopt our two terrific kids, after five years of tears and fears.

Because she has my back when no one else does.

Because she loves me for exactly who I am.

Because she knows how scared I can get and she still thinks I'm courageous.

Because she's so beautiful to me, a spectaculary broken human being who nevertheless testifies to the tremendous ability of the human spirit to make one more day COUNT!

Yup, she's my soul mate, because G-d was good enough to give me the sense and patience to see how very true that is.

NEXT: Are you coming to the 2007 Gay and Lesbian Meet in WDW?

... Unfortunately no, at least probably not. Not the best time for a professor as finals are right around the bend.

But Viki .. what a BEAUTIFUL response to the last question! You're kids couldn't have two better mommies.

I guess I'll repeat the last question since I didn't really answer it well ... who is going to the meet in 07?

Hey, friend, you can repeat that question all you want - and it is a GOOD Question - but why not rethink your answer and instead think about the ways that might make it possible for you to join us, because that would be spectacular!

So Viki, what was the final date selected for the Nov 07 meet? I'm not very good on this board yet and either I just missed it or don't know where to look in the sticky post. Thanks!
