Interval Run/Walk? How to?

Hey all-

I've recently stepped up my Walking only program to include some running. I've been working off of an active.com training plan that suggests running for 60 seconds, then walking for 90.

This is pretty easy on the treadmill, but is pretty tough out on the track or trails, without keeping my watch in front of my face the whole time.

Does anyone know an easy time to keep ... time?

Is there a pedometer, mp3 training audio, or other trick that will key off to let you know when your pre-set time is up? I looked for watches and such, but didn't see anything that would beep on second intervals - only at pre-set times.

Any thoughts would be welcome!

My Garmin has an option so that it beeps for the run/walk intervals. Otherwise I just watch my watch for my intervals. It's hard now because your intervals are short, but once you get up to 4-5 minute runs with a 1 minute walk, it get easier.

Congrats and Good Luck.

The jogging 60 seconds and walking 90 seconds sounds like the first week of the C25K training program. I found some links at this site, C25K.com, for mp3 downloads that give the run/walk cues.
I plan on downloading the Christian Indie tracks this weekend and trying out next week.

Hope you find something that works for you!:)
