Interval International search & exchange question

I just called MS about an Interval Internation exchange and the information I was given was a bit confusing and I'm not in the mood to be on hold again right now so I figured I'd check with the REAL experts, LOL.

The did a search and my requested week/resort was not available. I was told there is a $95 non-refundable deposit to "wait list" (so to speak). She then said that if I cancelled the "wait list" or nothing ever came through that the $95 would be refunded.

So my question is: is the "non-refundable" $95 exchange charge refundable if either I cancel the search *BEFORE* the exchange comes through OR if the exchange NEVER comes through.

Thanks for the help!

Each case is handled on an individual basis. As a rule, if you cancel prior to a match or the exchange never matches, the fees is refunded. If you match and change your mind, the fees is non refundable. One question I haven't gotten answers (haven't yet asked) is this. II has implemented a policy where if you cancel within 24 hours, it's like you never had the exchange. I just don't know how DVC will function within that policy. My guess is they will ignore it and not follow it.

Ok, that is the way it was explained - I was just hung up on the refundable "non-refundable" transfer fee, LOL.

Thanks for the info!
