Interval Exchange Cancellation Question

I have a question, I deposited enough points for a week long stay in Maui for my sister's honeymoon this June. If I were to cancel that request (nothing has come through), would I be able to get my points back to use at WDW or do I have to use it to do another II? Thanks~

I think that once your points are deposited with II, they are now reservation points and cannot be used for a DVC accomodation.

Did you actually deposit the points with II or just start a search for Maui? If you just did a search then the points aren't allocated to II until a match is made.

As noted, if you started a search then canceled, your points would be safe as DVC points and you would get your $95 exchange fee back assuming they hadn't offered you anything on your list. If you deposited, you would have 2 years from the date of the deposit to find something AND travel. You would not get any points back in any way. Even if you deposited first, unusual with DVC, and you cancelled the search, you'd still get the $95 fee back if you canceled. However, if you did deposit first I wouldn't cancel, only change to something that would work for you because every delay where you're not looking is that much less chance you'll find anything that works and that much more likely you'll have to settle or lose your points totally.

I just did a search. No depositing of points yet....so my sister is telling me today about if she wants to use the points or not. If not, DH says we're going to Disney 2 more times this year (making it a total of 4 times!)

If you match while discussing it you will be stuck and your points will be gone. I'd put the search on hold ASAP if you're not sure then restart it later if needed.

I canceled the search and we're planning a trip to Williamsburg and WDW in the summer now
