Interoffice E-Mail-bugged?

Can your company set up the e-mails between employees to be delayed until someone in "IT Dept" reads and aproves them?

Yes, they could. Any use of the office computer and e-mail system is using the property of the company. Don't ever put anything into an inter-office e-mail that you wouldn't want your boss to see.

WE've had ex-employees who were recently fired e-mailing folks,so I guess they are screening everything.

There's no expectation of privacy in an office, however I'd have a problem with the IT department screening my email. I'd rather a manager have that responsibility. I fail to see how an IT person, out of the chain of command, should be able to determine what is and isn't appropriate.
