Good day to everyone. I'm new to this forum and i signed up because I need to get all the help/info i can get in becoming an Imagineer.

I'm a graphic designer by profession and what i dream to do is become a graphic designer for Disney theme parks. I lived in the Philippines for 15 years and my work experience is all based there, my previous job was doing the visual displays and advertisements for one of the biggest Mall industry in the Philippines. Designing the banners, tarps, brochures, mall directories, mall/tenant enclosures.. things like that. I think my experience can be of use to Disney's theme parks.

Currently, i just moved to Las Vegas Nevada to get my career in the right path. Las Vegas is the only place i can stay at the moment because of my relatives being here. That said, i've been searching the web on how to get in and an Internship seems like the best way to get in. Don't worry, I'm an American Citizen so there are no visas or greencard stuff that should get in my way. So here are my questions.

Am I too late to enroll for Fall 2014?
Does disney provide lodging for those who have no body living near the area?

If so, how much is it?

thanks to those who replied.

I think this week is the very last week for the DCP so you might still be able to apply. Housing is provided for about 90-109 per week depending where you live and how many people you live with. I'm not sure about PI's though.

Thank you for the info. Forgive e for asking, but what does DCP mean?

DCP means Disney College Program - which is for college students or people who recently graduated from college. It sounds like you're looking for a regular internship. I searched Disney Jobs in the WDW area for anything with graphic design and it turned up this Im not sure if that link will work. if it doesn't, heres a link to the disney job search page where you can find and apply to jobs.

Thank you very much. So i can't apply in other words for the DCP due to me not being a recent college grad (i graduated college at 2011). However, for regular internship, how is the lodging? Does Disney offer temporary places to stay for people who live in different states?

Disney provides housing for anyone who participates in the DCP, there are four apartment complexes near property that Disney owns and provides free bus transportation to and from work, and to and from some shopping areas.

You have to be within 6 months of your graduation date to apply for an internship (or in school).

The Disney College Program is different than the Professional Internships. In those roles you don't do professional work you work at the parks and resorts doing attractions, merchandising, housekeeping, guest relations, etc. However, you can use the DCP as the "in school" requirement for the PIs. So get a DCP then apply for an internship while doing the DCP.

Also, most PI applications have closed for Fall 2014.

ETA: There is housing available for the PIs as well. It is not one of the four used for the DCP. It is called Falcon Square.

Thanks to you and everyone for the info. I guess i can't go for the internship since I graduated college at 2011. :(

But i so want to be a Disney Imagineer, it's been my goal ever since i was little. Anyway, it seems applying online through the career site is the only route (hopefully there are other ways i can try) and i do have newer questions.

1. For people seeking a job in Disney and becoming an Imagineer, how is the interviews done for those living in different states? Will we have to fly to california or florida or does disney do interviews online?

2. Do new employees from different states get the same lodging help like those who are taking interns?

Companies typically don't provide relocation stipends, housing, or fly people out for interviews for entry level jobs. Many companies will list whether or not they pay for relocation or want "locals only" in the job description. I checked disneycareers.com and they don't do that. If you want to apply for jobs in California, maybe start by asking your family if they'd be able to help you drive to an interview, or research options taking the bus. Look at MegaBus from Vegas to Union Station.
