How do they determine who gets the free internet, and who doesn't? In other words, does the member have to show their card at the front desk, or is there some other system?

For the member, if it's billed just show your membership card at front desk and they will remove. There seems to be a 'gray area' concerning whether a renter (you set up a ressie for someone who rents it from you) can or can not get free internet ( probably not phrasing that correctly - maybe I should say will or will not be billed for internet while staying on your points)

If the room is booked with points, there should be no charge. Mistakes happen sometime - and a call to the front desk will have the charge removed. They're not distinguishing between members and member's guests....and a renter is the member's "guest".
