If I purchase the unlimited use or $89 for the 7 day trip. Do I still need to pay for each outgoing e-mail?

The outgoing email charge is if you use the "CruisEmail" I believe.

So if you're going to use a webmail client, like yahoo or hotmail, you won't get charged either way. Free is much better than pay, even if it sends a cute email to friends and family.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

DD used our aol web mail and no extra charges accured. Aim works also.......that's usually the next ?.

Is there usually a wait for a free computer for internet access, or can I expect to pop in at most times to check my email without alot of hassle and waiting? And on the Wonder, where is the internet access at for adults? 1st cruise and not sure what to expect. Thanks!

We got the unlimited package($39) this past week on the "Wonder" and never had to wait for a computer. There are 10-12 in the Internet Cafe on Deck 3 next to the Promanade lounge.

We checked e-mails and communicated with our 17 yr old daughter 2-3 times a day from the Wonder

If you can wait for your e mail Cozmel had a place that was 1 dollar for a half an hour. My kids used it and no wait. I did not go on a cruise to be on the computer and pay for it to??!!!

There is a bank of "adult only" computers in the Cove Cafe on the Magic. On the at sea days, there was a wait for the computers in the Promenade Lounge...lots of kids playing games or using AIM, and a wait of about 4 other people, so I just ran upstairs and used the one in the "18 and older" area of the ship...no wait there at all.

I have a question....If I buy the unlimited use package for my teen DD, can I use it too? Or do you have to pay for each person that uses it?

They say that they cannot be shared, but I think that as long as there's only one person signed on at a time, it wouldn't matter?

Not sure as I didn't choose the unlimited this time, but I do remember the notations about "accounts are not to be shared". I never saw anyone checking tho!!

On the Magic, the Cove Cafe is a good choice if the Promanade area is busy. It happens occasionally where it is full, especially at sea. But overall, the access is very easy, and yes you can share the same account - just use the password given at sign up time. It's a combination of room number and name. Nobody is checking when you go to log on. We have an internet business and needed to check in with employees daily and it worked out great!

Thanks for the info! Another question. Can people e-mail you back? And can you send pictures? I would love to send pictures to my coworkers of me sitting on my veranda with an umbrella drink just to rub it in a little! hehe! :hyper: :hyper:

If you use an online free email like Hotmail, Yahoo, etc, you can send and receive emails as you wish.

As to the sending of photos, there is no way to "upload" the images from say a CD or by connecting your digital camera to the computer - they hide the CPUs and you only see the monitors, keyboards and mice. So unless you had a digital camera on your cell phone that could then upload to a site like Ofoto, then I don't know how you'd do that. I used that set up for our cruise, but of course was limited to my days with service ...for me, that was until about midnight of the Key West day, then nothing until 4am on the last morning, as we pulled in to Port Canaveral. (T-Mobile)

What if you have an AOL email account? Will I still be able send and receive emails freely with an AOL email address?

Yes you can. They have an AOL icon right on the screen. We used AOL e-mail this past week on the Wonder. You can even IM anyone you want that is on-line the same time as you.

Don't forget - there is a drawing on the first night on the ship - for free internet usage on your trip. You just have to go there and sign up for the drawing in the afternoon after you embark.
