Internet question

The ships do have PCs for use. The Magic has PCs in both the Promenade Longe and in The Cove.

Cost is $ 0.75 per minute or you can buy unlimited use for your cruise. I think it runs $39.99 for the 3/4 day and $89.99 for the 7 day. (Don't quote me on the prices though!)

Hi,

There is an internet cafe on board. You can either be charged by the minute or pay a flat fee of $39.95 for unlimited during the whole cruise. Have fun!!

And just to note, having a laptop won't help unless you have a satellite phone or something. ;) My dream would be for in-room access, I'd pay the $90 then! They should make the whole ship wireless, then I'd use my laptop for more than the downloading of the digital photos that I used it for this time.... *grin*

If you do bring a laptop, the only way to connect is via the ship-to-shore phone. Several dollars per minute...... VERY expensive.

Thank you for all the great information. I didn't realize the ship wasn't wireless. My daughter went pale when I told her that her cell phone wouldn't work on board or until we got back in port. I guess she'll be spending alot of time in the internet cafe. If we want the flat fee for the unlimited use do I need to add this to our reservation or do we request upon check-in?

You can select it when you first sign on to the web .... Andy

You add it yourself the first time you log in - you choose your pricing then, and you use your name and cabin # as your ID and set a password.

I did notice a HUGE waiting line on the "at sea" days in the Promenade Lounge, because there were alot of kids using Instant Messenger, and playing computer games like Solitaire...but remember that for the 18+ there's the Cove set of computers that I never saw full. :)

As to cell phones, on the Western mine worked till about midnight the night we left Key West...and then started making noises again at 4:30am as we pulled in towards Port Canaveral!

On embarkation day they have a raffle you can enter to win free unlimited internet access for the duration of your cruise. Be sure to enter that! :)

You took the words right out of my mouth!

One thing my DH did, he originally started off on the Per-minute plan, but once he realized how fast 5 minutes goes by - he asked if he could upgrade to the unlimited plan - and they only charged him the difference between the unlimited price, and how much he had spent on minutes.

For info, tips and more buy "The Passporter" for the Disney Cruise Line. I bought mine from amazon.com for under $15. There is so much info!! You'll love it!!

B&T,

Thank you,

I just ordered passporters for both the cruise line and disney world. I got the hidden mickey book for the kids too!

How do I get the passporter? I sail away on 2/28. Do you think I could get it in time?

I found mine at Barnes & Noble, and I noticed they had them in the airport at Orlando (stayed there the night before, and shopped a bit...)

I checked the price on passporter.com and I paid a little less at amazon.com but the shipping time is longer with Amazon. Amazon has approx shipping for the Cruise line passporter as 4 - 6 days
