Sorry that I'm so full of questions, but If I don't ask I wont know.

I just read that the internet package is 89.99 per person. I was going to get this for my daughter and myself. Is there any way for us to "share" this package?? She will only be 13- and will just want to email her friends..

Yes, you can share the internet package with your DD, but she will have to sign in under your account and only one person can use the account at a time. This is the way my DD and I did it this past August.

Thank you for answering me so quickly. I just don't know if both of us could stay off the email for a week.. lol

I said I wasn't goingt to get on either, that lasted about two days. Everytime I walked past the Internet Cafe, I could hear the voice of the keyboards calling out my name, I finally caved in, LOL!!!

I even get on the internet when we just travel to WDW. It not as long as if I was at home. I just don't want to come home to any surprises or a ton of email.
My oldest daughter hates talking on the phone so she is an internet girl from head to toe. I think she would want to say hi to her buddies from time to time.

I take it there no age limited for kids on the internet?

Not that I am aware of, I don't remember seeing anything about an age limit. If your DD is 13, she could probably use the internet in "The Stack" as long as you weren't on it at the time.

We are going on our first DCL cruise on 1/10/04 & can't wait. My DS who is 12 wants the internet access for instant messaging with his friends at home. Can you do instant messaging there? I don't want to spend the money if you can't because this is all he uses.

Yes you can get onto aim while you their. all he needs to know is his pass and his user name.

Both Caymen and Couzmel have internet access 30 minutes for
ONE DOLLAR.
Use it-------------- my kids did

actually you don't want to mention it to the hostesses cause technically the answer is "no" you are not supposed to share it. I'm pretty sure everyone does though :)

I always take the Internet Access package as it is a great way to stay in touch with everyone back home. Ship to Shore calls are prohibitive at around $8 per minute plus the cost of the long distance call, so what better way to keep the lines of communication open? Plus I am addicted, LOL!! :teeth:

Would have to agree with Alex - somewhere in my documentation I received on board (may have been in the Blue Book) it states $89.99 "per person".

My DD-17 purchased it, and I used it twice, with her there by my side.

Hi!

I am wondering if there is only internet access or if Word and Excel are available, too. How about a USB port or way to send a digital photo. I would like to send postcards to friends through the USPS web site while on board -- not much more expensive and MUCH easier!

Thanks!

When I "signed on" (89.95 on out 11/29/03 Magic sailing) They told me "Only one password can be used at a time". To whick I responded "If my daughter uses it to talk to her friends and I use it for work do I need to pay for two accesses?" And she again said "only on password can be used at a time". So I again said "so her and I can share a password, just not be on at the same time?" The CM just smiled and said "only one password can be used at the same time!"
Tiggerpu88...........you can't up load pics....sorry.

Hi all!
I noticed the comment about the cheap internet access at Cozumel and Cayman. Does anyone know what the cost of internet access at Nassau is? I'm leaving to be a CM next month and although which ship is still unconfirmed, I am pretty sure I'm on the Wonder and looking for good tips on internet access. I'm going to need it being gone so long!!

*3 more weeks*

Amabelle.....I heard from a CM that your "access" is free. Just a perk. But if I am mistaken there was an internet cafe in nassau that we used last year. I believe it was 15 mins for 3.00.

Interesting.
I hope that is the case.
But at my interview in August, they said that we have our own internet cafe for CM's at a reduced rate (but it still costs 10 cents a minute when in port and 25 cents a minute while at sea).
It would be so excellent if this has changed and it was free.

Amabelle, the CM's I know gave me exactly the same figures as what you quote for onboard access. They do have their own machines.
In ports there are kind of "crew hangouts" they know exactly where to go and I am sure you will catch on quickly!!
The main problem isn't internet cost..it's lack of time to use it :)

lol. I assumed about as much regarding the time.
I've told everyone here to send the emails my way but don't be waiting up for my replies.....I'm a woman! I'm not a machine!
Thanks for confirming that, Alex.

I made it the entire two weeks, Andy!!! But then again, I'm the one who got a $10 voucher from Trump's Casino in the mail, walked in the casino, got my money and walked back out with it in my hand!!!

I have iron will power - except when it comes to horses, shrimp, and well, that's enough information!!!!!!!
