Do they offer internet on board to the room you are in or do you have to go to a special room?

Also, what is the cost of internet?

Thanks!

On the Magic & Wonder there is a internet area with computers. On the Dream, there is no special location, and a (limited) number of laptops are availble for check-out from Guest Services

There are various packages available for purchase, based on how many minutes you wish to purchase. Also, by the minute costs.

Using the internet onboard is VERY SLOW, so be prepared.

:cutie:

Wifi is available in all cabins and many public areas of the Magic and Wonder, as well as in the internet cafe.

As above, it is S...L...O...W and expensive. We have found internet in most ports to be much faster as well as free or cheap.

Hello! I was just wondering about this same topic for our MR cruise this Sunday...hope you don't mind if I add to the internet question.

So, I understand that there are Disney plans for their wifi, but a friend had recommended that we get an international data plan through Verizon for my DH's iPhone, which currently has a regular data plan. Then I could use his phone as a hotspot for mine, or the iPad. A week of the international data plan seems much cheaper than Disney's charges.

Does this work or am I missing something? Thanks for any tips!:thumbsup2

I'm not sure the data plan will work while you're at sea. I'll leave that to the experts though.

To address the previous comments about the slow wifi ... it is the slowest connection I have ever seen ... it makes phone modem connections from the old days look lightning fast. AND if too many people are trying to access it, you'll find it difficult to log on. My next cruise ... we'll probably save our money and go cold turkey on the wifi. There are some wifi spots at the various ports. We'll survive that way.

Cost is 75 cents per minute. You can buy a package that gets it down to as low as 30 cents per minute. You'll burn thru that in NO TIME at the lack of speed and the fact that it keeps kicking you off that you will experience.

Cellular at Sea is $2.49 per minute for phone calls. I don't know if your internet on your phone would use that or not.

Again, we have found free/cheap internet in every port where we have looked for it--St. Thomas, St. Croix, Cozumel, etc.
