Interesting bit of info I read on frequent flyer today.

Ensure you get the lowest fare by deleting cookies when doing online flight searches.

So the website you are searching stores your search data and the next time you search the price goes up. Make sure you delete your search history and cookies after searching. One member noted his price kept increasing daily everytime he searched for a fare. He deleted his cookies and the price went back to the original search price.

Anyway just an interesting piece of information I thought everyone should be aware of.

Thanks for that advice. I'll remember that for next time :)

Thanks for the tip :)
I signed up for sky scanner alerts and saw that Sydney-Orlando return is as low as $1200 for flights in early December :hyper:

this got me thinking and searching (google is my friend!)

This report from Consumer Watch explains how dynamic pricing works - and confirms the travel industry is a heavy user. More complex than just the cookies - but they confirm this tip!

Very interesting. I wish it could apply to fuel. You can't tell me the fuel that was tanked in and paid for one one day is suddenly worth more on another just because it's a Friday/ long weekend/ school holiday or whatever! We had the same thing the day after cyclones Yasi and Larry came through this way; bananas quadrupled in price at the supermarket. The day after! The supermarkets said it was to help the farmers but I can't see how since they already had the items in the store and would have purchased them weeks before the cyclones!

Thanks for the advice it works.

I purchased our 2 tickets to LAX through VAustralia for $1063 each last Monday
Just by adjusting our days I got them this low otherwise it would have been $2648.
Thank you again.
